Reason for change
Complaint:
Noises (squeaking) at full steering lock from the area of the front axle.
Cause:
The painting of the rubber boot during production can result in a squeaking noise in the area of the outer joints at full lock.
Remedy:
Raise the vehicle at the front axle, then turn the steering wheel to full lock on both sides while rotating the wheels by hand. If
there is a squeaking noise near the full lock position, the following work procedure is to be performed:
1. Clean boots on left and right outer joints.
2. Coat boots on left and right outer joints with lubricant A 000 989 36 60*.
Note:
Do not replace the side shafts on account of this complaint.
