A. Storage and Mounting Systems For MB Special Tools
The heart of this tool storage and mounting system is the metal tool board which can be wall mounted, mounted to free-standing stationary steel
racks and be mobile when mounted on wheeled steel racks.
Metal Tool Board
The patented tool board is a 2.0 mm (0.05") thick steel panel measuring 1000 mm X 1050 mm (39.4 X 41.3 inches) in size. The panels are punched
with a repetitive key-hole pattern which serves as attachment points for a variety of tool holding elements. Each panel is epoxy-coated (MB grey)
(Figure 1).

Size of Metal Tool Board is shown in centimeters, thus:

105cm = 1050 mm
Board Mounting clips
Two types of mounting clips are available depending on the final mounting configuration selected: wall mounting or rack mounting.
Tool Holders
A variety of sixteen special tool holders (e.g. hooks, clamps, baskets) are available to accommodate the attachment of all varieties of MB Special
Tools.
Special self-locking nuts are provided to allow fastening of all available tool holders from the face of the tool board (requiring no access from the
backside). This fastening method assures no damage to the coated surface of the board.
Metal Racks
Different metal frames are available which can be assembled to configure a wide variety of rack shapes and tool storage possibilities.
Configuration Possibilities
There are 7 different tool storage configurations offered, using the different metal frame elements.
1. Wall mount (without frame).

B. Management System For MB Special Tools
The heart of this MBUSA Tool Management System is an adhesive backed, plastic overlay (foil) that shows the tool silhouette. This provides for the
location and/or identification of the tools, thereby providing the workshop a visual tool inventory system.
The majority of hard-tools are shown on a scale of 1:1, while test cables are on a scale of 1:2.
A legend is provided listing all currently applicable A & B tools and their precise location within this tool board system. Additionally, the legend
also identifies the specific tool holder needed to mount/hold tools where applicable.
Updates to the overlays and the legend for new model year tools will be made available for ordering shortly after the tool release to retailers is
complete. This will assure the workshop can always remain current with the MB USA Special Tool inventory of A & B tools.
General Notes:
Generally, all tool boards are easily transferable from frame-to-frame and configuration-to-configuration. This is possible due to the special
mounting clips that are fastened to the backside of the tool board, and hook into slots of the space frame.
Ordering Information:
