SUBJECT
No Daytime Running Lights Available in CKM
MODEL
R50, R52, R53
SITUATION
Daytime Running Lights cannot be deactivated using Progman
CAUSE
The selection is missing in Progman
PROCEDURE
Load modified ZCS code (Central Coding Code) to the vehicle using Progman
To modify the ZCS code or to reload an existing ZCS code, the appropriate ZCS code must be loaded to an empty floppy disk or CD. The file is
supplied by e-mail from the Technical Hotline. Please make a request using the PUMA system. A return e-mail address must be provided.
1. Connect the vehicle to an approved battery charger.
2. Insert the disk/CD into the floppy or DVD drive.
3. With the appropriate diagnostic head connected to the vehicle, start a Progman session.
4. Select the appropriate vehicle model.
5. Press the "Vehicle" button at the screen with the text "Program SELECTION: 1. Terminate CIP 2. Load software 3. Car & Key Memory
(CKM) ... ".
6. Press "Vehicle order".
7. Press "Adapt VO" and follow the on-screen instructions.
After adapting the ZCS code encode the BC1.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
Normally, the setting of CKM is included in the PDI time paid. Additional changes after that point are the customer's responsibility.
The current Progman version does not permit the daytime running lights setting to be changed.
The process described in this SI will not be necessary once the next version of Progman V22.00.00 becomes available.
In the interim, should a customer request a change to the daytime running lights setting, BMW will pay 2 FRUs for vehicles covered under the MINI
New Vehicle Warranty to perform the steps described under "procedure."
