Complaint:

The "Navigation 20" (formerly called UMI) retrofit solution for navigation available through Mercedes Benz Accessories exhibits the following

fault profiles in navigation mode:

1. Recalculation of route takes a very long time.

2. Implausible route suggestions by classification (cheapest, quickest, shortest route).

3. Routes to roads classified for rescue vehicles cannot be calculated.

4. Implausible navigation instructions in tunnels.

Cause:

Software error in navigation module.

Remedy:

Perform software update on "Navigation 20" control unit (see attachment for procedure).

Note:

When the new software is installed, a map update must also be performed.
