Kia EV6 RWD 2023

Kia EV6 RWD review

The Kia EV6 is the first electric vehicle from the Korean automaker to use a dedicated EV platform. It is also the first model to showcase Kia's new design language, which aims to blend futuristic and dynamic elements. The EV6 comes in two variants: a rear-wheel drive (RWD) version and an all-wheel drive (AWD) version. In this review, we will focus on the RWD version, which offers a lower price and a longer range than the AWD version.

The RWD version of the EV6 has a single electric motor that produces 168 kW (225 hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 185 km/h (115 mph). The battery pack has a capacity of 77.4 kWh, which gives the EV6 a range of 510 km (317 miles) on the WLTP cycle. The EV6 also supports ultra-fast charging, which can replenish 80% of the battery in just 18 minutes using a 350 kW charger.

The EV6 has a sleek and sporty exterior, with a low roofline, a long wheelbase, and short overhangs. The front features a slim LED headlight cluster and a distinctive "tiger nose" grille that integrates an air intake. The rear has a full-width LED taillight bar and a spoiler that enhances aerodynamics. The EV6 also has a spacious and modern interior, with a minimalist dashboard, a curved dual-screen display, and ambient lighting. The cabin offers plenty of room for five passengers and their luggage, with 520 liters (18.4 cubic feet) of trunk space and 1300 liters (45.9 cubic feet) of space with the rear seats folded.

The EV6 comes with a host of advanced features and technologies that enhance safety, comfort, and convenience. Some of these include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, parking assist, head-up display, wireless smartphone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a premium sound system by Meridian. The EV6 also has a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function that allows it to supply up to 3.6 kW of power to external devices or other vehicles.

The Kia EV6 RWD is an impressive electric vehicle that offers a compelling combination of performance, range, design, and functionality. It is also competitively priced, starting from $40,000 in the US and €44,990 in Europe. The EV6 is expected to go on sale in late 2022 or early 2023 in various markets around the world.
