Mercedes Benz: Where Performance Meets Style

Mercedes Benz: Where Performance Meets Style

While the 4x2 Sprinter comes with either a 161-hp four cylinder or a 188-hp V6, the 4x4 gets only the V6. But it鈥檚 a good V6, with 325 lb-ft of torque and a nice, smooth five-speed automatic. As an example, the petrol engine provides a reduced entry cost for clients, which makes it a good option for people who are limited in budget. It also means that the starting price for the Sprinter range has dropped slightly, with vans available from 拢24,350 plus VAT, although the top-spec models, especially the luxuriously equipped Sprinter Tourer private shuttle in L4 extra-long guise, can cost in excess of 拢50,000 when fully equipped. The biggest change in the current Sprinter range鈥檚 lifecycle is the model refresh in April 2013, where it gained not just a new angular grille and headlights, but improvements to economy and emissions plus a refreshed interior as well as new harder-wearing upholstery.

The car completed a total of 4,250 km over nine official test days, plus a further 200 km during filming days, with just two on-track stoppages. For the $6,500 more the 4x4 costs over the $36,990 base 4x2 Sprinter, the added confidence you鈥檒l feel in snow or mud may be worth it. We鈥檇 say to get the optional backup camera, too, even though it鈥檚 maybe the worst backup camera ever made in terms of actually seeing what you鈥檙e backing up over. But to get places you never thought you could go in something this big, the 4x4 will expand your delivery route considerably. Two technical diamonds that will forever remain in the prestigious Mercedes-Benz motoring history. There鈥檒l undoubtedly be a widescreen infotainment display which is sold with Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX). Attendees crowded together to hear Bob Brady, Senior Product Specialist and Jo Borras, Sales and Special Projects Coordinator, explain RENNTECH's history, details of custom tuning and performance enhancements, and the fine points of the sights that the small group tours throughout the classified areas would experience. Tours can be chosen during daytime or sunsets. That meant listening to some reverberating sheetmetal as we drove down paved roads, but commercial drivers can handle that.

As we ascended into the mountains, we noted our first on-road impressions of the Sprinter 4x4-the prototypes we drove last fall weren鈥檛 allowed on public roads-and, in that environment, it drives just like the regular, non-4x4 version. The negative and the rear appearance similar to the current Sprinter albeit there are a couple creases that produce the overall expression of the vehicle much better than previously. Strike that-the steering in the Sprinter is actually better and offers more feel than virtually any current Mercedes sedan. The diesel engine, alternatively, offers better performance, capability and fuel market. Mercedes says it offers two wheelbases, three body lengths, two cargo area heights, three Gross Vehicle Weight classes, cargo volume up to 547 cu. The actual exhaust system has three major components; the OXI-Cat and DPF section and two SCR Cat sections. The finals the next day witnessed diminutive but legendary 17 year-old Jamaican Marilyn Fay Neufville, winning in a world record of 51.02. Neufville won by an astounding more than two seconds ahead of silver medallist Sandra Brown (53.66) of Australia; she reduced the previous world record of 51.7 established (1969) by Colette Besson and Nicole Duclos both of France by nearly a second.

You can juggle facts, figures and internal stand-up height measurements all day long, especially when comparing commercial trucks with so many configurations. From well-styled interiors to performance-focused build and added horsepower, purchasing one of the SL-Class models can truly be a lifetime investment. However, it is highly recommended that you build your credit score for a few months before applying for an auto loan. If you are actually having bad credit profile and finding the difficulty of obtaining instant money, then you don鈥檛 need to worry at all! If you own a business and are buying a fleet of these, get the optional rearview camera; it鈥檚 terrible, but it鈥檚 better than having your drivers park by sound. To get an idea of where we were, pull up Google Maps, imagine a straight line from Vancouver to Calgary, and drop a pin somewhere in the middle. So unless you鈥檝e already ordered it, you won鈥檛 get yours until Halloween.

And that鈥檚 before the 50 or so aftermarket upfitters get ahold of it. That鈥檚 Revelstoke. Our potentially perilous route would take us to a logging road in remote Mica Creek that promised to be more challenging than the man-made off-road course on which we sampled a Sprinter 4x4 prototype last year. Sure, the old 4x2 drivetrain was pretty good, and that鈥檚 still available, in all its 4x2 glory. Mercedes was eager to show us that the four-wheel-drive Sprinter has serious off-road chops, sure, but we were generally curious to find out how a $40K-plus, lifted, four-by-four full-size van performs. The upcoming 2020 Mercedes Sprinter 4X4 may comprise a brand new feature: the Mercedes Professional connectivity. This works well up until you鈥檙e in really steep, deep mud, whereupon (for our convoy, anyway) a Mercedes guy with a shovel appears and digs you out. Heck, you might as well throw in another $300 for the optional low range and drive out the showroom doors with all wheels spinning for $43,790. In its longest-range form, the EQV uses a 100-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack, allowing for 250 miles of range on the European testing cycle. We can't exactly spot the top speed in the video, but a comment on the channel indicates that the van reached around 93 miles per hour (150 km/h), which is pretty darn close to its alleged top speed of 96 mph.
