Conversion of COMAND to New Telematics Generation NTG 4.5
Model series is converting to New Telematics Generation 4.5. (NTG 4.5), therefore APS converts to COMAND online. Audio 20 CD (Code
510/523) and Audio 50 (code 511/525) are not affected by this conversion.
The SA codes will not be changed because of the conversion from NTG 4 to NTG 4.5. The vehicle data card documents the New Telematics
Generation 4.5 with control code 088.
NOTE:
COMAND code 512/527 and control code 088 -> NTG 4.5.
As of model year 2013 (code 803), the Audio 20 and Audio 50 will also be converted to NTG 4.5. This in turn means that code 088 will be omitted
again from the vehicle data card.
COMAND Online NTG 4.5 will be visually recognizable by the existence of an SD card slot (Figure 1) (1) in the head unit (code 512, 527).
