When installing the driver’s floor mat

Observe the following precautions. Failure to do so may cause the driver’s floor mat to slip, possibly interfering with the pedals while driving. An unexpectedly high speed may result or it may become difficult to stop the vehicle. This could lead to an accident, resulting in death or serious injury. ■When installing the driver’s floor mat ●Do not use floor mats designed for other models or different model year vehicles, even if they are Lexus Genuine floor mats. ●Only use floor mats designed for the driver’s seat. ●Always install the floor mat securely using the retaining hooks (clips) provided. ●Do not use two or more floor mats on top of each other. ●Do not place the floor mat bottom-side up or upside-down. ■Before driving ●Check that the floor mat is securely fixed in the correct place with all the provided retaining hooks (clips). Be especially careful to perform this check after cleaning the floor. ●With the hybrid system stopped and the shift position in P, fully depress each pedal to the floor to make sure it does not interfere with the floor mat.

Ideally, there will have some sort of hook that can be attached to the floor of your vehicle to hold the mats in place. It might not seem like a determining factor in your floor mat selection, but thickness plays a role in your floor covering's efficacy. The thicker the floor mat, the more liquid it can absorb, making it more challenging to clean.
Place the mats in the car. Most mats will simply lie directly over the floor in front of the seats. Some will need to be fitted onto factory retention posts.
It is imperative that you remove all existing floor mats from your vehicle before installing your new WeatherTech Floor Mats or Floor Liners. Failing to remove mats that are already installed will result in the Floor Mats or Floor Liners fitting improperly.
FloorLiners should be installed directly on the floor of the vehicle and not over any other floor mats. Also do not place any additional mats on top of the FloorLiner. FloorLiners are laser measured and custom fit for your vehicle’s specific year, make and model. Do not install or use with any other vehicles.
