P0565 Cruise Control On Signal Malfunction

Diagnostic trouble code P0565 indicates a malfunction with the cruise control system in your vehicle. The cruise control system is designed to maintain a constant vehicle speed without the driver having to use the accelerator pedal.

Here are the steps to diagnose and fix the problem:

Check the cruise control switch: The cruise control switch is located on the steering wheel. Check to make sure the switch is functioning properly and not stuck in the on position.

Check the cruise control fuse: The cruise control system has a dedicated fuse. Check the fuse to make sure it is not blown.

Inspect the cruise control wiring: Inspect the wiring and connectors for any signs of damage or corrosion. Repair or replace any damaged components.

Check the cruise control module: The cruise control module is responsible for controlling the speed of the vehicle. Test the module to make sure it is functioning correctly. Replace the module if necessary.

Check the vehicle speed sensor: The vehicle speed sensor provides the cruise control module with the current speed of the vehicle. Test the sensor to make sure it is functioning properly.

Check the throttle actuator: The throttle actuator is responsible for opening and closing the throttle body. Test the actuator to make sure it is functioning correctly.

Check the brake switch: The brake switch is used to disengage the cruise control system when the brake pedal is pressed. Test the switch to make sure it is functioning properly.

Reset the Check Engine Light: After repairing the problem, reset the Check Engine Light using an OBD-II scanner.

If you are not confident in your ability to diagnose and fix the problem, it is recommended that you take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic or dealership for repair. A certified technician will have the expertise and diagnostic tools necessary to properly diagnose and fix the issue.
