Tesla is preparing another massive
update that's gonna add some highly
requested features to your Tesla yes
it's finally happening plus a Tesla is
slashing prices around the world given
discounts we've never seen before at
least we haven't seen in years some big
changes are finally here for the model S
and model X you need to know about and
we've got some new news on the 2023 EV
tax incentives and I can tell you right
now it is not looking good for Tesla
this is not good news at all so let's
break down the good news the bad news
that everything happening in the wild
world of Tesla that you need to know
about right now and a huge thanks to
recurrent for sponsoring this video

recurrent today totally for free so
we're kind of starting off with Tesla's
2020 three in sort of a weird place as
the company is sort of coming out of a
very turbulent 2022 that had some good
news and a lot of bad news I mean on one
hand there was some staggering growth
especially fourth quarter 40 ish uh sort
of growth year over year which is crazy
model theory model y still some of if
not the best-selling cars around the
world of breaking sales records and uh
just overall some really great updates
we've got some new features we've got
the holiday update lots of great stuff
um but also some bad news uh Tesla stock
not a good year for Tesla stockholders
at all clearly took quite the dive but
it's time for a new year Tesla is
hopefully going to do their best to put
all of the drama and negativity of 2022
behind them
um and even though Tesla does have some
big plans for the New Year some new
model 3 refreshes some new uh software
updates a lot of stuff I'll get into uh
they are undoubtedly still feeling sort
of the Crunch and the effects of 2022
and still have some big changes they
need to make to get 2023 uh sort of uh
starting off on a positive note for
example one of the big things that is
still causing a lot of confusion with
new and even existing Tesla owners as of
right now is that you still can't custom
order one of the most popular cars on
the road a Long Range model 3 at least
here in North America and the United
States specifically now I should mention
for those of you interested in buying a
Long Range model 3 I've got some good
news you still can buy one brand new
directly from Tesla but it's a little
trickier to do so you've got to look in
Tesla's existing inventory these are new
cars they've already built to see if you
can find what you want and the good news
here is that 2023 model 3s do exist but
you can't customize the color or wheel
package or whether has FSD or EAP or
whatever it is you just sort of have to
buy whatever configuration is within a
200 mile radius of you we're also still
awaiting the official launch of one of
the most anticipated Teslas of all time
to make its reappearance and that is the
standard range dual motor model y here
in the United States even though Tesla
has been building the days basically
since Giga Texas first sort of got
completed and got sort of got a
production off the ground and even
though you can still find these cars
brand new in existing inventory and
Tesla even has done deliveries many
deliveries of these cars you still
cannot custom order one directly from
the Tesla website so you still can't go
in and pick your color and pick your
real configuration they are available in
existing inventory but they're sort of
few and far between and also speaking of
the standard Range model y we did see
some code spotted in the Tesla
configurator that suggests this car is
coming to the Tesla configurator and the
price is going to be around 61 990 which
is about four thousand dollars cheaper
and the long range model Y and speaking
of price one of the biggest
controversial changes Tesla has made in
the past week or so was slashing prices
all over the world in many different
countries except for here in the United
States and I guess I should say North
America specifically here in the US and
Canada South Korea Japan Singapore
Australia and China we're just a number
of different territories around the
world that's awesome notable price
changes some decreases specifically in
China where Tesla already made some
significant price Cuts just a few months
ago Tesla is making its cars more
aggressively priced than we've ever seen
before and not only is Tesla doing some
nice freebies like including a free wall
connector to new owners around the world
but we're seeing discounts on models as
as much as up to 10 percent in some
cases and uh we're seeing some really
aggressive price Cuts in fact when you
account for the currency conversion
Tesla's cheapest offering the rear-wheel
drive model 3 is equivalent to 33 500 US
dollars as its price in China right now
making it a Far Far Cry from the current
price of this car as of right now here
in the US even if you take that 7 500 EV
tax incentive into account still not
going to get anywhere close to what this
car is priced like in China and I guess
this sort of leads us to the big
controversy happening right now in the
EV community and really specifically the
Tesla community and that is the new
details that emerged about the 2023 Ira
inflation reduction act EV tax
incentives because basically the news
came out about what vehicles will
qualify and it is not good at all uh for
new or potential Tesla owners looking to
take delivery of a brand new Tesla
starting with what is basically the only
good news here and that is that the rear
wheel drive standard Range model 3 the
base model 3 does qualify for the 7 500
tax credits as long as the MSRP stays
under 55 000 so you can change your
paint color you can even upgrade your
wheels you might not want to add FSD to
sort of your car at the time of purchase
because you don't want to go over that
cap but you can basically you know pick
the color of the car you want and the
wheel configuration you want and you
should be well under that 55 000 cap for
sedans which does make this a really
good car even more compelling than ever
before because this essentially means
that the base model moves from a price
of 46 990 down 39 490 if you qualify for
the maximum amount and at that price sub
forty thousand dollars this already good
car is really really good and now is
substantially more affordable as well
all right now before we continue with
more Tesla news I want to take a quick
break and let you guys in on a big
secret that you need to know about right
now listen up this is important did you
know that you can get access to an
awesome in-depth report on your EVS
battery like your Tesla every single
month yes this is true it's official the
secret is out and it is all made
possible by this video sponsor my
wonderful friends over at recurrent now
recurrent is doing so many amazing
things in the EV industry including one
of the cool things here is this Nifty
little free tool that lets the input of
in and see if the Eevee you're looking
for is eligible for these new tax
incentives here in the US but of course
beyond that one of my all-time favorite
offerings from them is this totally free
monthly battery report and what better
way to sort of show off how this works
than to give you a demo of my personal
model y this is my December report and
this is actually a big milestone because
this report marks about 12 months since
I took delivery of this car so let's
take a look 12 months later and see how
the health of my model wise battery is
holding up all right so this is my 2022
model y it's got over 9 000 miles on it
at this point and it still has an
expected range sitting right around 313
to 314 miles of range pretty good with a
score of 97. now this next module is
really really cool and it is able to
predict based off my current battery
health what my range will be in three
years I've got an estimate of around 300
ish miles 297 to 299 which is still good
I think three years late I could also
see quickly and easily at a glance the
market value of my car which is not
great as of right now used car market is
not as hot as it once was I also really
loved here that recurrent is adding
these nice little real world impact
examples as well showing over the life
of my EV it is saved as much as four and
a half acres of U.S forests here in the
US in one year which is really cool to
see next up this graph here shows me how
my vehicle Compares two similar vehicles
in their current Fleet and this next
module is also going to give me a
breakdown of my charging habits this is
a really important module to take a look
at because you can see here that to
minimize battery degradation I want to
stay in this band of about 30 to 80 that
is the target Zone and as you can see
I've definitely got some room for
improvement I definitely let the car get
a little too high but more often than
not it sinks a little too low rounding
out the modules here with the final two
I can easily see at a glance what my
current range is with this nice map
overlay visualization awesome to see and
I can also see how my range is going to
change and be affected based off of
temperature as well and in addition to
this amazing report recurrent also has a
really powerful new tool that's going to
help you supercharge your EV selling
experience too because in just a couple
of clicks you can get the value of your
EV plus a recurrent range score which
could potentially earn you even more
money based off the health of your EVS
battery and if you want to you can
easily and effortlessly get connected to

in EV sales and there's no spam here
there's no gimmicks there's no gotchas

the description but where things go from
bad to worse is over on the model y side
because for whatever reason in the
infinite wisdom of the United States
government the most popular version of
the model y sort of the long range
five-seater configuration is classified
not as an SUV but as a sedan which means
the 55 000 MSRP cap immediately applies
and also disqualifies basically that
long-range model from getting any kind
of incentive but what's really a lot
about this is that the 7c configuration
of the exact same car the long range
model Y which is way less common and
takes longer to build does qualify as an
SUV 8 which means the limit goes from 55
000 to 80 000 making it available in
many cases uh for that seventy five
hundred dollar tax incentive now as of
recording this video the cheapest model
y with a 7c configuration you can buy is
around sixty five thousand nine ninety
excluding any incentives or stuff like
that so this does give you quite a bit
of room to sort of configure this car to
what you want get the color and wheel
configuration you want uh and you're
still gonna get that 7 500 credit but
you're also sort of stuck with the 7c
configuration which is not ideal for
many many people would rather have a
more space more versatility but if you
do want to save some money and get that
uh sort of an EV incentive uh you are
going to have to go whether you like it
or not with the seven seed model because
again that's what the government says as
of right now and another piece of Tesla
news coming out over the past week or so
that'll make a lot of you guys Happy is
the inclusion the reintroduction of the
standard steering wheel ever since the
model S and model X got their refresh
the Yoke has been a very controversial
change some people love it some people
hate it but now if you would like a
standard steering wheel Tesla has back
pedal just a bit took him about a year
and a half but now you can option the
car for a standard wheel uh at delivery
and also if you want to do a retrofit
from your yoke to a regular wheel that
is also available as an option from
Tesla Service Centers now as well all
right moving on from that next up let's
talk about Tesla's holiday update since
there has been a lot of confusion I've
seen in the comments on some of the new
features I wanted to clarify a couple of
points here on some of the new features
that you may or may not have received in
your car with Tesla solid updated now
pretty much should be rolled out to just
about everyone first thing I want to
clarify here is that the official Zoom
app for Tesla is out you can take your
meeting your Zoom call right inside your
Tesla uses the internal camera the
microphones works on the screen works
really well it is here it's official
it's live but it is only available on
ryzen based CPUs inside of Tesla so you
have to have a 2022 or newer model 3
Model Y and also you gotta remember that
Tesla made transition in a little bit of
a gray period so if you're like me even
though you might have a 2022 model y or
even a model 3 you might not have the
Horizon processor you need to check if
you have it basically if you want to
easily check if you have the holiday
update if you have the Zoom app you have
the Verizon processor if you don't have
the Zoom app you do not and there's no
way to get it there's no work around
there is no sort of retrofit there's
nothing and we're not really sure right
now why you need to have the ryzen
processor to do this whatever the case
is but it is only available for Teslas
with the ryzen processor under the hood
also Steam support is here on Teslas you
can actually play Steam games in your
car but this is only on newer Model S's
and X's there is no watered-down version
there is no light version for the model
3 Model y that sort of gaming component
with steam does not exist it is only on
the higher end PS5 graphic equipped
Model S and model X and also if you're
wondering uh if you're a fan of the
Sonic app the Sonic game that it was
existing in Tesla's that has been
removed for the holiday updates not
exactly sure why uh but sorry if you're
a fan of that game it's not a lot of
comments on that it is now gone in the
newest holiday update release and while
we're on the subject of an update there
always another thing I wanted to point
out and that was that there were some
additional news coming out from this
holiday update news that suggests that
Tesla is working to add even more
third-party media streaming services to
the model 3 Model Y and basically all
Teslas thanks to one important change
the Tess implemented that has been sort
of hiding in plain sight for the last
couple of weeks specifically what I mean
by that is that with the launch of Apple
music on Tesla is the company has now
moved to a browser-based audio player
and this system will also be
transitioned for Spotify as well and
basically the underlying technology
makes it way easier to add new Services
as it doesn't really like require like a
dedicated app like what was the case
with Spotify and title and tuna and
stuff like that because this is
basically sort of like a browser app
that looks like an apple basically is
running in a web browser it makes it way
easier to add new features and there
have been some reports and some
speculation that we could see things
like YouTube music Pandora uh audible
Amazon music other services come because
the underlying Tech has changed it is
way easier for Tesla to add these new
things so hopefully in 2023 we see some
New Media streaming options but now
we've got title we've got Stitcher is it
Stitcher slacker tune in I get those
confused uh but we've got Spotify Apple
music title of being the biggest and uh
hopefully some more coming in the new
year of 2023 directly to your Tesla so
I'm curious guys what are your thoughts

tax incentives your thoughts on Tesla in
2023 the good news the bad news do you

you are excited and what you're excited
for let me know down below as always I
