DTC B2516 00
- Driver Exterior Lock Sensor Malfunction
Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The exterior driver door handle contains a small sensor which allows the driver to lock the vehicle doors from the outside without using the remote
keyless transmitter. The keyless entry control module monitors the voltage level on the driver door handle switch signal circuit, when the switch is
pressed, the voltage in the signal circuit will drop and the keyless entry control module will then send a serial data message to the BCM to
command all the doors to lock.
Conditions for Running the DTC
Battery voltage is between 9-16 V.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The keyless entry control module detects the driver door lock switch signal circuit is shorted to ground for greater than 45 seconds.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The keyless entry control module ignores inputs from the left front exterior door handle switch.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present.
