Conditions for Running the DTC

Battery voltage is between 9-16 V.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The driver door lock/window switch detects the driver exterior door handle switch signal circuit is shorted to ground for greater than 180 seconds.

The passenger door lock/window switch detects the passenger exterior door handle switch signal circuit is shorted to ground for greater than 180

seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The exterior door handle switch signal ignores inputs from the exterior door handle switch.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present.

* When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC.

* A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles.

Circuit/System Verification

1. Ignition OFF, with the doors closed, pull the exterior driver door handle. The driver door should unlatch allowing the driver door to be pulled

open.

瀚慖f the driver door does not open, refer to Driver Door Handle Switch Malfunction

2. With the doors closed, pull the exterior passenger door handle. The passenger door should unlatch allowing the passenger door to be pulled

open.

瀚慖f the passenger door does not open, refer to Passenger Door Handle Switch Malfunction

Circuit/System Testing

Driver Door Handle Switch Malfunction

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B27D door handle switch - driver.

2. Test for less than 30ohm between the ground circuit terminal listed below and ground.

* Ground circuit terminal 1

* Ground circuit terminal 4

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

3. Ignition ON, test for greater than 9 V between the signal circuit terminal listed below and ground.

* Signal circuit terminal 2
