Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The SIR System is disabled and no deployments are allowed.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present

* When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC

* A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles

Circuit/System Verification

1. Ignition ON, with the passenger seat unoccupied, verify the scan tool Passenger Seat Occupancy Status parameter is Empty Seat.

2. With the passenger seat occupied, verify the scan tool Passenger Seat Occupancy Status parameter is Occupied.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B60 seat belt reminder sensor.

2. Test for less than 30 ohm between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K36 SDM

3. Ignition ON, test for 4.75-5.25 V between the signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.

瀚慖f less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace

the K36 SDM.

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K36 SDM.

4. If all circuits test normal, replace the B60 seat belt reminder sensor.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.

* Inflatable Restraint Front Passenger Presence Sensor Replacement (See: Restraints and Safety Systems/Air Bag Systems/Seat Occupant
