Conditions for Running the DTC



DTC P0667, P0668, or P0669



* DTCs P0667, P0716, P0717, P0722, or P0723 are not set.



* The TCM internal temperature is between -55掳C and +150掳C (-67掳F and +302掳F).



* The engine speed is 500 RPM or more for 5 seconds.



* The ignition voltage is 8.6V or greater.



Conditions for Setting the DTC



P0667 - Condition 1



* Vehicle speed is 8 km/h (5 mph) or greater for 5 minutes.



* Torque converter clutch (TCC) slip speed is greater than 150 RPM for 3 minutes.



* The TCM internal temperature is between -55掳C and +21掳C (-67掳F and +70掳F).



* The TCM internal temperature has changed by less than 2.0掳C (3.6掳F) in 2 minutes.



* The transmission fluid temperature (TFT) is greater than 70掳C (158掳F).



* The TFT has increased by 55掳C (99掳F) since start-up.



Condition 2



* Vehicle speed is 8 km/h (5 mph) or greater for 5 minutes.



* TCC slip speed is greater than 120 RPM for 5 minutes.



* The TCM internal temperature is between 120-150掳C (248-302掳F).



* The TCM internal temperature has changed by less than 2.0掳C (3.6掳F) in 2 minutes.



* The TFT is 70掳C (158掳F) or greater.



* The TFT has increased by 55掳C (99掳F) since start-up.



Condition 3



The TCM internal temperature changes by 20掳C (36掳F) or greater 14 times over 7 seconds.



P0668



The TCM internal temperature is 249掳C (480掳F) or greater for 4 seconds or more.



P0669



The TCM internal temperature is -249掳C (-416掳F) or greater for 4 seconds or more.



Action Taken When the DTC Sets



* DTCs P0667, P0668, and P0669 are Type C DTCs.



* The TCM allows the vehicle to operate in transmission protection mode.



Conditions for Clearing the DTC



DTCs P0667, P0668, and P0669 are Type C DTCs.



Diagnostic Aids



During a road test, the TCM temperature should steadily increase to a normal operating temperature, and then stabilize.
