Introducing our 12 ambassadors and the program to come later in the year
Earlier this year Rowing Australia released a teaser for a planned series for 2020, Extraordinary Australians. The series was scheduled to be released in the coming weeks telling the story of the extraordinary individuals in the Australian rowing community.
This series was set to include stories of volunteers, club coaches, school rowers, club rowers, parents, officials and our elite athletes, to name but a few. We wanted to illustrate the extraordinary contributions of our whole community to the sport of rowing, to tell the stories of those we may not normally celebrate and to showcase the inspirational journeys of our top athletes.
However, we have had to put the full program on hold due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions we now face around filming and engaging with the community. We had only completed, in full, one of our 15 planned episodes at the time restrictions were put in place.
However, we wanted to take the opportunity to introduce you to our 12 Extraordinary Australian Ambassadors from our elite athlete group. These individuals, will be sharing content during the coming months, undertaking online interviews, Instagram takeovers and sharing blogs and articles that may be of interest to the community at this time.
We’re excited to tell the stories of these 12 ambassadors and also the extraordinary members of the community who committed to being part of the series. Stay tuned for the videos to come when restrictions are lifted and we can reactivate and share their stories with you all.
