Circuit/System Description

The throttle body assembly contains 2 throttle position sensors. The throttle position sensors are mounted to the throttle body assembly and are not

serviceable. The throttle position sensors provide a signal voltage that changes relative to throttle blade angle. The engine control module (ECM)

supplies the throttle position sensors with a common 5 V reference circuit , a common low reference circuit, and two independent signal circuits.

The throttle position sensors have opposite functionality. Throttle position sensor 1 signal voltage decreases from greater than 4 V at idle to less

than 1 V at wide open throttle (WOT). Throttle position sensor 2 signal voltage increases from less than 1 V at idle to greater than 4 V at WOT.

Conditions for Running the DTC

P0121

* The engine speed is greater than 480 RPM.

* The vehicle speed is 0 km/h (0 mph).

* The engine coolant temperature is greater than 5掳C (41掳F).

* The ignition voltage is greater than 8 V.

* The intake air temperature is greater than 5掳C (41掳F).

* DTC P0121 runs continuously when the above conditions are met.

P0122, P0123, P0222, and P0223

* The vehicle speed is 0 km/h (0 mph).

* The engine speed is greater than 250 RPM.

* The engine coolant temperature is greater than 5掳C (41掳F).

* The intake air temperature is greater than 5掳C (41掳F).

* The ignition voltage is greater than 8 V.

* The ignition is ON, with the engine OFF, or the engine is operating.

* DTC P0122 runs continuously when the above conditions are met.
