5. Perform the Throttle Sweep Test while observing the TAC Motor parameter with a scan tool. The TAC Motor parameter should display

Enabled while the Throttle Sweep Test is in progress.

6. If the repair was related to a DTC, duplicate the Conditions for Running the DTC and use the Freeze Frame/Failure Records, if applicable, in

order to verify the DTC does not reset. If the DTC resets or another DTC is present, refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List -

Vehicle (See: Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions/Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle) and perform the appropriate diagnostic

procedure.

Diagnostic Instructions

* Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (See: Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Diagnostic System

Check - Vehicle) prior to using this diagnostic procedure.

* Review Strategy Based Diagnosis (See: Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Strategy Based Diagnosis) for an

overview of the diagnostic approach.

* Diagnostic Procedure Instructions (See: Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Diagnostic Procedure

Instructions) provides an overview of each diagnostic category.

DTC Descriptor

DTC P2227

- Barometric Pressure (BARO) Sensor Performance

Diagnostic Fault Information

Typical Scan Tool Data

Circuit/System Description

The engine control module (ECM) supplies 5 V to the BARO sensor on a 5 V reference circuit, and provides a ground on a low reference circuit.

The BARO sensor provides a voltage signal to the ECM on a signal circuit relative to the atmospheric pressure changes. Changes in BARO due to

weather are relatively small, while changes due to altitude are significant. Pressure can range from 56 kPa at an altitude of 4,267 meters (14,000

feet), to 105 kPa at or below sea level. The BARO sensor has a range of 0-128 kPa.

Conditions for Running the DTC

* DTCs P0068, P0101, P0102, P0103, P0106, P0107, P0108, P0111, P0112, P0113, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0120, P0121, P0122, P0123,

P0125, P0128, P0220, P0222, P0223, P0502, P0503, P0722, P0723, P1516, P2101, P2135, P2228, P2229 are not set.

* The engine run time is greater than 30 s.

* The vehicle speed is less than 100 km/h (62 mph).

* DTC P2227 runs continuously when the above conditions are met.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

* The ECM detects the difference between the current BARO sensor reading and the previous BARO sensor reading is greater than 10 kPa.

* The above condition is met for 1 s.
