Ford Mach E Electric Crossover Spied For The First Time

Ford Mach E Electric Crossover Spied For The First Time

One year ago, almost to the day, our spy photographers caught what might have been a mule for the Mustang-inspired Ford Mach E crossover. Today we think that this might be the first public sighting of the Mach E wearing its production body. We can鈥檛 be 100% sure, but it ticks a lot of Mach E boxes. Despite Ford鈥檚 best attempts at squaring off the rear, we can tell this vehicle has a fastback silhouette through the wrappings. Funnily enough, the rear end design is actually what Ford teased already. That photo (below) previewed a crossover coupe design with Mustang taillights. There's also the question of whether this is electric like the Mach E? This tester doesn鈥檛 have giant 鈥渆lectric vehicle鈥?stickers on it, but there sure aren鈥檛 any visible exhaust pipes on this car. Nor are there any cutouts in the lower rear bumper to accommodate exhaust pipes. It also looks like Ford has some black coverings going around the whole underbody of the vehicle, extending along the sides and rear end.

There is a gigantic frontal area and extremely tall hood. One of two things could be going on here. Ford could be massively blowing up the Mustang鈥檚 front end into huge crossover proportions, or it could be a trick of the camouflage. We鈥檙e sure it鈥檚 the latter. A lot of the cladding up there is bulging upwards and outwards in ways that make no sense in car design, and that don't match up with the rest of the body. Ford designers will probably try to simulate the high, bulging hood view out of the regular Mustang in the crossover, but this reeks of overkill to us. The headlight positioning is another element that suggests everything will be moving further down for production. Ford positions the headlights just below hood height on the Mustang, so moving them down into the front fascia like they appear here doesn鈥檛 make much sense in a Mustang-inspired vehicle. And on an EV it wouldn鈥檛 be ideal to have such a bulky wind sail of a front end for production. Tire and wheel sizes are not visible in the few photos we get, but the tires sure don鈥檛 look like the wide, meaty rubber you get on a Mustang GT. The model we鈥檙e looking at now could very well be a lower-power version of the car, though.

Now the best part arrives this custom Protour Mustang was dropped 5 inches for a very aggressive stance look and fitted with SSBC stainless slotted disk brakes, calipers and brake lines front and rear. This bad boy also has a custom 3 inch mandel bend flowmaster 40 serious exhaust with custom side dumps if you ever want to go open headers at any time. As you can see this if one of the first 鈥?969 Ford Mustang Mach 1鈥檚鈥?with custom side exhaust. This is the first 69 we have ever seen with this great custom feature. You will see them on 68鈥檚 but not a 69 unless they are done custom. Now for the amazing sound system this car has nothing but the best audio possible, all JL audio amps, one 600 powers a 12 inch JL sub in the trunk and a JL 4 channel supplies all other 6 speakers. You have never heard anything so clear and loud. This is all surrounded by plush while leather interior. We wanted to keep the color scheme original but with the new aggressive paint like the house of color Kandy paint job. Now the cheery on the cake this Custom 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 also is a night stacker. This car is a night time head tuner as well. This beautiful girl needs a good home.

The livestream is over but you can rewatch the reveal in the video above. You can also learn all about the new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E in the links below. Many of us never thought the day would come, but Ford is preparing to break the mold by launching a Mustang with an electric powertrain. No, we鈥檙e not talking about the Lithium EV that shocked the crowds at SEMA earlier this month. The vehicle you鈥檙e about to see live from Los Angeles will take the shape of an SUV that will surely generate a lot of controversy. Going by the full name of Ford Mustang Mach-E, the zero-emissions vehicle has already been partially revealed courtesy of a massive leak straight on Ford鈥檚 website, but the Blue Oval is sticking to its plan. Ford has hired famous actor Idris Elba to help introduce the vehicle on stage. 500 refundable reserve deposit to claim the unprecedented Mustang.

Despite Ford鈥檚 faux pas, we鈥檙e still curious to discover the electric SUV and whether it will live up to the legendary moniker that has been around for more than half a century. It has some big shoes to fill given the Mustang鈥檚 heritage and we can all agree it鈥檚 a risky move on the company鈥檚 part to use the name on a completely different vehicle. The Mustang Mach-E won鈥檛 be limited to the U.S. Ford will also begin to take pre-orders from European customers, with reservation timing for China to be disclosed at a later date. Beyond the use of an important nameplate, the vehicle itself is a big deal considering it鈥檚 an attempt from the Dearborn-based company to compete in the continuously growing electric SUV segment. The livestream starts today at 8:50 PM EST. If you're reading us from Europe, the event kicks off at the impossible hour of 1:50 AM GMT, November 18, so you really have to be committed to staying up this late. Ford says the premiere will last for approximately half an hour and that's when reservations will open for early adopters.
