Circuit/System Verification

Engine running, observe the scan tool Engine Oil Pressure Sensor parameter. The reading should be between 0.3-4.8 V.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B37B Engine Oil Pressure Sensor.

2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 ohm between the low reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20

Engine Control Module.

3. Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 V between the 5 V reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.

瀚慖f less than the specified range, test the 5 V reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,

replace the K20 Engine Control Module.

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the 5 V reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine

Control Module.

4. Verify the scan tool Engine Oil Pressure Sensor parameter is greater than 4.8 V.

瀚慖f less than the specified range, test the signal circuit terminal 3 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine

Control Module.

5. Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 3 and the low reference circuit terminal 1. Verify the scan tool Engine Oil

Pressure Sensor parameter is less than 0.3 V.

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,

replace the K20 Engine Control Module.

6. If all circuits test normal, replace the B37B Engine Oil Pressure Sensor.

Circuit/System Description

The HVAC control module supplies battery voltage to the A/C compressor. When the A/C switch is pressed, the HVAC control module provides a

pulse width modulation (PWM) signal to the A/C compressor in order to command the performance of the A/C compressor. The performance of the

A/C compressor is regulated according to adjusted interior temperature on the basis of characteristic lines. Therefore the HVAC control module

grounds the A/C compressor with the PWM signal.
