Although a variety of colors were offered for the interior of the Boss 302, black standard is often used. A front chin spoiler was standard, but the rear window slats and plastic rear wing are options. The Boss 302 was rated at 290 horsepower, but the current horsepower is more like 350. Insurance companies began to penalize cars that were rated more than 300 hp. The race versions made over more than 450 horsepower at 8000 rpm. The standard wheels on the Boss 302 were painted 15x7 argent Magnum 500s planted within F60x15 Goodyear Polyglas tires. Chrome Magnum 500s were an option. In response to the great success with the Chrysler 426 Hemi in Nascar, Ford produced the Boss 429. All Boss 429's were built in Brighton, Michigan, where the facility is located Kar Kraft. In order for the Mustang to receive 429 engine partially SportsRoof Mustangs, which were built to accept 428SCJ were changed. One was KK sticker inside the driver's door above the plate at each warranty Ford Boss 429, this means Kar Kraft production series. The serial number of each 429 can be found at the rear of the engine block assembly, inside the front fender panels, in the transmission of housing and also the chassis. The 1969 Boss 429 is available in five colors: White Wimbledon, Royal Maroon, Black Crow, Black Jade, and Candy Apple Red.

I have been poring over forums from all sites and I thought that FTE had the best info out there. Its good to be here! So I have been doing a lot of home work for this build. Still have a few questions though, Ill get to those in a min. Im considering for the rebuild. But no matter what way I end up going I plan on building off the F4TE block, and Ill be able to drive the truck in the process. I know right off the bat I want to change to MA from SD. The question here is what ECU to go with since I have the e4od tranny. 600 Ill make the injector harness and reconfigure the pins. Throttle body 70mm but what brand? Master engine kit- Camshaft Bearing Set, Oil Pump, Gasket Kit, Brass Expansion Plug Kit, Main Bearing Set, Connecting Rod Bearing Set, Premium Piston Ring Set, Cast Piston, Cam & Lifter Kit, Timing Set - 3 Pc.

And there is the machine work that has to be done to the block, heads to intake ect聟. If someone could give me the hp/tq ratings both will have to be in a D/D. For the tanny Im looking at getting a 96 to rebuild. Sorry for being long winded just wanted to get my thoughts out there. First, ALL stroker kits need to be balanced, unless specifically bought with crank rods pistons and rings already balanced. Second, a 393 is usually cheaper, and a 408 isn't going to net you much extra. 3rd, cam choice depends on displacement and roller rocker ratio depends on cam. 4. Mass air can be retrofitted to your truck somewhat easily if you are good at wiring and reading a diagram. Just find any maf truck with an e4od and get the ecu, harness, knock sensor(not needed but nifty to have) airbox, maf harness, few other things. There are tons of write ups about the swap.

Get the stuff then ask more questions if you need clarification on one of the writeups. If you're going for 350/400 I'd suggest 30lb injectors. I hate going too small and like not having to upgrade later. Stock distributor is fine. Block needs machining for new pistons with any complete rebuild kit. Get pistons then bring block and pistons to get it bored and honed. You won't have any problem making 350hp/400tq from a 357, and while a stroker can make lots more Tq and hp it'll burn more fuel driving around town. With an E4OD you'll want a mass air 5.8 PCM ideally and with a tuner on it you can use any engine configuration you want. There are a few engine built threads going on this forum so have a look around to get an idea. Second, you should be prepared to use a tuner for this, it sounds like you'll end up there. With that in mind, you can get a PCM that will control the E40D and you can program the shift points in the PCM with the tuner, or not. External, 28 oz. imbalance or internal?
