and 15.0 volts.
瀚慖f not within the specified range, refer to Charging System Test (See: Starting and Charging/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests
and General Diagnostics/Charging System Test).
2. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the TDM. Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Replacement (See: Accessories and Optional
Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Alarm Module/Service and Repair).
3. Ignition OFF and scan tool disconnected, open and close the driver door, and wait 1 minute. Test for less than 5 ohms between the ground
circuit terminal 3 and ground.
瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
4. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the 12V B+ circuit terminal 1 and ground.
瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the 12V B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
5. If all circuits test normal, replace the TDM.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
Control Module References (See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning) for TDM replacement, set up, and programming.

DTC Descriptor
DTC B1428
- Ignition Switched Power Run/Crank Relay Circuit
Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The body control module (BCM) controls the Run/Crank relay through the run/crank relay coil control circuit by applying voltage to the circuit.
The Run/Crank relay is energized when the ignition switch is in ON or START, or when a remote start is requested.
Conditions for Running the DTC
* The system voltage is between 9-16 volts.
* The DTC can only run when the output is activated.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The BCM detects a short to ground in the run/crank relay coil control circuit.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The module output driver will be shut down and not supply voltage to the run/crank relay coil control circuit.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
