control module.
3. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool DMCM Coolant Temperature parameter is greater than 162掳C (323.6掳F).
瀚慖f less than the specified range, test the signal circuit terminal B for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the engine
control module.
4. Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal B and ground. Verify the scan tool DMCM Coolant Temperature
parameter is less than -60.5掳C (-76.9掳F).
瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,
replace the engine control module.
5. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the generator control module temperature sensor.
Component Testing
Temperature Sensor Test
Note: A thermometer can be used to test the sensor off vehicle in heated water.
1. Test the generator control module coolant temperature sensor by varying the sensor temperature while monitoring the sensor resistance.
2. Compare the readings with the Temperature Versus Resistance ().
瀚慖f not within the specified range, replace the generator control module coolant temperature sensor.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
* Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement (Generator Control Module) ()
* Control Module References (See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning) for engine control module replacement, setup, and
programming

DTC Descriptor
DTC P0A1B
- Drive Motor 1 Control Module Performance
DTC P0A1C
- Drive Motor 2 Control Module Performance
Circuit/System Description
This is a fault detection of the Drive Motor Generator Power Inverter Modules' (PIM) internal Motor Control Module (MCM). This fault is handled
inside the PIM and no external circuits are involved. The MCMs are located within the PIM and are not serviced separately.
Conditions for Running the DTC
* The control module runs the program to detect an internal fault when the ignition is ON.
* Ignition voltage is 8-18V.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The control module has detected an internal malfunction.
