Daytime Running Lamps - Enable/Disable

Issue:

The daytime running lamps feature of S-TYPE vehicles may be enabled/disabled as a customer requested option, except in markets where daytime

running lamps are either mandatory or prohibited. Daytime running lamps are permissible in the USA.

Action:

In markets where daytime running lamps are mandatory, ensure that this feature is ON. Should it be necessary to change the existing setting, the

following PDU procedure should be followed:

1. Locate PDU disk JTP 627/5 or later and load into PDU.

2. Highlight DIAGNOSTICS.

3. Enter VIN.

4. Enter VEHICLE FEATURES.

5. In the Main Menu, select VEHICLE SET-UP

6. Select VEHICLE CM SET-UP/CONFIGURATION.

7. Initiate MPA.

8. Connect PDU and MPA to vehicle.

9. Select DEALER OPTIONS.

Caution:

North American Specification vehicles are not equipped with steering column locks. Ensure that NO is selected.

10. Select DAYLIGHT RUNNING LAMPS MODE.

11. Then highlight the required mode to enable the feature or remove the highlight to disable the feature:

REST OF WORLD LAMPS ENABLE CANADIAN DAYLIGHT RUNNING LAMPS ENABLE

12. When one of the above modes has been highlighted, press the check mark, then the PDU will confirm that it has been successfully

programmed.

13. Check the function of the daytime running lights, by starting the engine and placing the selector lever in Reverse or Drive ranges. Daytime

running lights will not function in Park or Neutral.
