You Can Already Get An Aftermarket Kit For The Audi Q8

ABT Sportsline is one of the first companies to extract more power from Audi’s new flagship SUV.

The Audi Q8 hasn’t been on sale for very long, but aftermarket tuners are already busy tinkering with the automaker’s new flagship SUV. German tuner ABT Sportsline has become one of the first companies to upgrade the newest member of the Audi Q family with a power boost, larger alloy wheels, and some interior modifications. Specifically, the tuner has upgraded the Q8 50 TDI quattro, which is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that pumps out 282 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.

This is more than enough power for most owners, but ABT’s power kit increases the output to 325 hp and 479 lb-ft of peak torque. Surprisingly, ABT doesn’t say how this affects the SUV’s performance, but it’s safe to say it should shave a few tenths of a second off standard model’s 6.3-second 0-62 mph sprint time. Top speed will have also likely increased compared to the standard Q8, which maxes out at 144 mph.

In addition, ABT has fitted a set of massive 22-inch wheels. Two designs are available, including the ABT FR in black with polished spoke edges and the ABT Sport GR with a concave rim base finished in either matte black or gloss black.

Inside, the tweaks are subtle. ABT has added a start-stop switch finished in premium-quality metal and door welcome lights that project the ABT logo on the floor. All-in-all, it’s not the most comprehensive upgrade, but ABT says it’s working on a new aero kit that should further distinguish it from the standard model. No doubt we’ll see more aftermarket tuning companies offer unique takes on Audi’s new flagship SUV in the future.
