I found this surprising because if 3 out of 4 wheels are bent so much that the wheel alignment can't be done, then why was there no indications like vibrations while driving on the highway? 675 to have the 3 wheels reshaped. I told them to recheck and make sure the wheels were actually bent before having those repairs done. It's hard to believe I had 3 badly bent wheels on a car that didn't give any indications of it. I had to leave the car at Mercedes-Benz of New Rochelle until the next week so they could finish the repairs. When I picked up the car the alignment was correct and it drove straight - but the steering wheel was off-center and not aligned straight. Prior to their "repairs" the steering wheel was centered and aligned straight. I called the service manager and asked them to make an appointment for me to bring the car back to get the steering wheel centered/aligned correctly.
I never heard back from him - I guess I it was in inconvenience for them to fix the mistake they made. The next day while I was driving on the highway I got a FLAT tire! I brought the car to a local service station and they determined that my tire was fine. The flat was caused because the mechanic at Mercedes-Benz of New Rochelle put the WRONG tire valve on the wheel and it had a slow leak. The two valves they put on the other wheels were the correct MB part, but they must have ran out of those valves, or just didn't care, and the MB "mechanic" installed the wrong valve. I had to bring the car again to Mercedes-Benz of New Rochelle (driving on the spare) to fix the incorrect valve they installed. Moreover, Mercedes-Benz of New Rochelle NEVER offered to compensate me for my wasted time and money due to their mechanic's incompetent mistake! To add insult to injury, after the second "repair" when I left the dealership with my car with the new valve installed, my car was out of alignment again and the steering wheel was still off-center.
Yet, I told the service manager when they were fixing the valve to also center the steering wheel correctly. So for each problem that I wanted fixed, at Mercedes-Benz of New Rochelle their "mechanics" created additional problems after "fixing" the car. I had to bring the car to Mercedes-Benz of New Rochelle again to "fix" the prior "repairs" they made to get the wheels and steering aligned - for the third time! MB of White Plains is owned by the same Pepe Auto Group and when I spoke to their service manager he basically ignored my request and blew me off. It was clear to me he didn't want to have to admit the mistakes made by their "sister" dealership in New Rochelle. I had to go to a different MB dealer that was located farther away (in Nanuet) and they fixed my alignment and steering wheel on the first try.
MB of Nanuet has competent mechanics, MB of New Rochelle does not. On a side note: When I first drove my car to the Mercedes-Benz of New Rochelle dealership, I didn't know where to park the car for the repair service staff. The first 4 employees I spoke to outside the main lobby did NOT speak any English and did NOT understand a word of the English language! I find that shocking that you have employees at an MB dealership in the USA and they don't understand nor speak a word of the English language! I'm from Bergen County and my local dealer gives me the worse sales service so that's how I ended up in New Rochelle. This was the best car purchasing experience ever! I never waited. Bob was helpful with my trade-in. Sergio had everything ready for me to sign and leave! Christian showed me all my new gadgets! I absolutely loved it! Fast and easy which is exactly what I needed because I'm super busy. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change with Peter Oliver. I scheduled for "drop off" but Peter accommodated me and changed it to "wait" which was really helpful! They were very fast and all the reps greet you upon entering. Mr. Oliver was very nice and respectful, efficient and swift service!
