My early ’70 Toyota Corolla needed its muffler replaced yearly. I (and others) attributed it to the lead in the petrol then. Otherwise, a really good car mechanically and my first experience with a foreign make (the body did rust through above the headlights in about 3 years, however). Too bad it was T-boned.
