Cool, but way too slow and tipsy for me. My first car was a 1969 Beetle, selected as the earliest year I would buy, due to the safer semi-trailing-arm rear suspension they came with (introduced for 1968 on the semi-automatic models). It had a 1500cc engine, could at least could keep up with most traffic, and run 75-80 mph on level ground.
