Car Barn Sport

Car Barn Sport

Dr. Thomas Weber, Board member of Daimler Chrysler AG responsible for Group Research & Mercedes Car Group Development. The F 700 also sets standards in regard to road roar, tire vibration and suspension comfort. With two laser scanners the active PRE-SCAN suspension scans the roadway in front of the car. The hydraulically controlled active suspension proactively compensates for detected hindrances, enabling entirely new comfort characteristics -a "flying carpet" feeling. Equally innovative is the operating concept "SERVO-HMI". The display is not only particularly gentle on the eyes; the number of controls also has been appreciably reduced and the menu structure has been made strikingly simple and self-explanatory. The driver can "discuss" more complex inputs, such as a destination for navigation purposes, in dialogue with an avatar, a virtual operating assistant. The exterior design of the F 700 shows that with this concept an extraordinary amount of space has been created for the passengers. The very silhouette, charac-terized by the long wheelbase, is a clear indication of this. The design harmoniously joins together inspirations provided by nature with technical innovation. All the futuristic styling devices notwithstanding, the F 700 is perfectly compliant with the brand identity of Mercedes-Benz. The interior concept interprets comfortable travel and well-being in a completely new way. With its REVERSE seat the F 700 breaks up the firmly established seat arrangement of conventional sedans and offers individual seating positions facing, or with one's back to, the direction of travel, always affording maximum spaciousness and supreme comfort. The F 700 provides inspiring ideas for the technological future of Mercedes-Benz once again - like each of the research cars which preceded it.

The boot is noticeably bigger too, and access is much easier thanks to a wider tailgate and lower sill. The new infotainment system in the A-Class is called MBUX, and seems to be heavily focused on touch-sensitive operation. The A-Class therefore has a touchscreen, a touchpad on the centre console, and there鈥檒l also be touch-control buttons on the steering wheel, too. According to Mercedes, this should help with less driver distraction. The huge free-standing infotainment screen is used to great effect, with incredibly crisp graphics and a very user-friendly interface. The choice of methods of swiping and scrolling helps here, as does the high-res screen and sharp graphics. The instrument cluster, on the other hand, will be used to show Assistance, Journey or Navigation information. In order to minimise distraction, the new A-Class will also feature a more intelligent voice control system, which Mercedes says will be capable of accepting more conversational requests.

All you need to do is say 鈥楬ey Mercedes鈥?and it鈥檒l talk back to you like Alexa in your home. On first try, it鈥檚 an intuitive system that also learns your habits and comes up with suggestions for your journey. Mercedes says it鈥檒l update its Mercedes Me app ecosystem, and add more scope for personalisation in the new A-class interior. New machine learning abilities also mean the new A-class will predictively suggest activities or tasks depending on what time of the day or week it is. For example, if you usually go to the gym after work, the A-class鈥檚 sat-nav will automatically suggest it as a destination when you finish work. Mercedes says there are four trim levels available for the new A-Class, but they may or may not all make it across to the UK market. For now, the trims we know are standard include SE, Sport and AMG Line. All A-Class models have automatic air-con, MBUX infotainment system with two separate seven-inch screens, automatic headlights and wipers, keyless go and Merc鈥檚 Dynamic Select drive mode system.

Both SE and Sport models have their own design tweaks and feature comfort seats instead of sports ones, but AMG Line will be the biggest seller over here, seen here in white in our picture gallery above. For the first year after launch, an Edition 1 trim is also available that dolls up your new A with yellow detailing and鈥?not a lot else. AMG Line cars get their own specific body kit, 18-inch AMG alloys, lowered suspension and sportier detailing inside. An optional Night Package throws in a load of fresh black bits, as well as the usual choice of Premium and Premium Plus packages to boost the kit count significantly. Earlier this year, Mercedes revealed an A-Class sedan for the Chinese market, but now it鈥檒l be coming to Europe, too. The new car will be built in Mexico and Germany, and should enter the market in the latter half of this year. Mercedes says the A-class sedan will be offered with A180d and A200 engines first, with both coming with a 7-speed DCT auto 鈥榖ox. As you鈥檇 expect, the new car will feature the same innovative interior as hatchback we鈥檝e already driven. Interestingly, Mercedes says the new A-Class sedan features the lowest drag figure of all production vehicles worldwide at just Cd 0.22. It beats the hatchback鈥檚 0.25 figure thanks to a more streamlined rear end. UK prices are yet to be released, but we鈥檒l update this article when we know more. To our eyes, the new A-Class sedan looks well-proportioned, and a lot like the BMW 2-series. With any luck we鈥檒l see an M2-equivalent in time.

Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Audi A4 than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The Audi A4 will be a favorite with taller drivers due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class requires fewer visits to the gas station than the Audi A4, making it more convenient to drive. There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Audi A4 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class have similar Destination Charges. The Audi A4 is a little wider than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, so getting in and out of the car in a crowded parking lot may be a little more of a squeeze. When looking at overall length, the Audi A4 takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. With its lower torque, the Audi A4 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The Audi A4 has a larger turning radius than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots. When it comes to horsepower, the Audi A4 is significantly less powerful than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums. In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. You'll be able to fit about the same amount of groceries into the Audi A4 as you will in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
