The Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart is the only place anywhere on the planet that displays innovations spanning 125 years of automotive history - as well as the latest developments of the present and future. Where do we go from here? Will we all be driving on hydrogen in future? Will the combustion engine soon be a thing of the past? “In Legend 6 we will be giving our visitors answers to questions about the drive system of tomorrow”, says Michael Bock, Head of Mercedes-Benz Classic. On the chronological tour through the decades, Legend 6 ‘New start - the Road to Emission-free Mobility’ will present the challenges of the present and future. The Mercedes-Benz Museum brings to life all aspects of automotive history over an area covering 16,500 square metres and nine levels. Seven Legend rooms describe the history of the brand, five Collection rooms important topics at Mercedes-Benz through the years. Many of the 160 vehicles exhibited stand for entire eras that they have shaped, recounting their own history. These include the gull-wing model from the 1950s or the Silver Arrows, not to mention the Mercedes-Benz 230 SL, the first sports car with a stable passenger compartment and crumple zone. “These vehicles were symbols of innovation in their day; again and again they would herald further progress. Our visitors soon realise that the history of Mercedes-Benz is brimming with innovations and that the focus was always firmly on the future - just as it is today”, adds Michael Bock. The Mercedes-Benz Museum is open daily from Tuesday to Sunday between 9 a.m.

The second-gen Mini Countryman is larger than its predecessor, but has retained its trademark quirkiness. Available in a wide variety of vibrant colors, the Countryman is as customizable as ever. Like every other Mini, you can personalize it to your heart’s content with dealer accessories and options including Union Jack decals, a contrasting roof, racing stripes, illuminated interior trim, and more. Inspired by the Jeeps of old, the Renegade is boxy, rugged-looking, and exactly what a baby Jeep should look like. The Renegade backs up its appearance with more off-road capability than you’d expect from a subcompact crossover. BMW already has the coupe-like X6 and X4, but why stop there? Like those more expensive models, the X2 is a sportier-looking version of another vehicle in BMW’s lineup, in this case the X1. But unlike its larger siblings, although the X2 has a lower roof and smaller greenhouse, the crossover otherwise sports a more conventional look. Still, this small crossover places a big emphasis on exterior styling with standard 18-inch wheels, a raked liftgate, and a BMW roundel badge placed on the C-pillar as a tribute to the classic 3.0 CS.

The automotive world was left in amazement and surprise as to why Porsche decided to launch the new, cheaper Porsche Cayman. Porsche Cayman is a sports car with 2 doors, produce by Porsche Company, Germany. In the cabin are two seats. Porsche claims that the inspiration of Cayman, in fact, came from Porsche Boxter. On the other hand, the difference between the two lies in the fact that Cayman has a flat six engine, making the handling and performance smoother and better in comparison to Boxter. With engine revved up, when Porsche Cayman was launched, the producing company got much in sales and profit; it did not stop there, but this sports car also got many awards for its power and performance. To maintain this car is also not such a complicated job for the owners, as used parts from Porsche cars work perfect with Cayman. As a matter of fact, Cayman ended up winning a big share of awards in the year 2006, during the Auto Express New Car Honors awards.

Mercedes’ flagship S-Class full-size sedan seats five in two luxurious rows. A number of different powerful engines are available, as are high-performance AMG editions. Two more fuel-efficient S-Class variants are also available: the S350 Bluetec 4Matic diesel and the S400 Hybrid. The S-Class shares luxury-sedan real estate with competitors like the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Bentley Continental Flying Spur. For the 2013 model year, the S350 Bluetec 4matic, S400 Hybrid and S550 models get the Premium 2 option package as standard. It includes parking assistance, a backup camera, keyless-go with push-button start and massaging front seats with adjustable comfort head restraints. Chrome and wood accents adorn the inside of the S-Class, which has room for up to five people. As opposed to a console-located gearshift, the driver selects Park, Drive and Reverse via a stalk on the right side of the steering column. Parktronic parking assist and a backup camera are standard on select models. Drivers who wish to manually control the automatic transmission can use shift paddles on the steering wheel. In addition to the hybrid V-6 and diesel V-6, available engines include two V-8s and two V-12s, all of which team with automatic transmissions. Safety features include Mercedes-Benz’s Pre-Safe system, which can tighten the front seat belts, close the sunroof and side windows, and adjust passenger seats for optimal safety when the system senses an impending collision. The S-Class can also get Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control and Pre-Safe Brake. Pre-Safe Brake works in conjunction with Distronic Plus radar signals and can slow the car automatically to lessen the severity of a collision.
