An unmodified Mercedes Benz C63 is already powerful with 473hp tucked between the front tires, so any thought of making this into something that can scare a sports car owner is pretty special indeed. Enter the Kicherer Mercedes-Benz C63 T Supersport. This is one tuner who decided to make the C63 run better than it ever will. Kicherer is a German tuner specializing in exclusive vehicles. They decided to up the ante on this big high performance station wagon, and tune it they did. It starts with a big 457 hp, 6.2 liter V8 and tuned it to give 550hp and 640nm of torque, using stainless exhausts, an ecu remapping and a sports air filter. With this increase in power, they then replaced the drive shafts of the car so that it can handle that much power at all times. They then opted to install big 20 inch wheels and tires to help grip the road even at 320 kph. Not only that, they decided that the car was too high and lowered it, and then fitted composite brake pads to improve the stopping power of the car.
In some configurations of the GT, you can get automatic dynamic side bolsters, which provide extra support to hold you in place around corners. The new-for-2019 four-door AMG GT adds a spacious, two-seat second row with lots of head- and legroom. You can increase passenger comfort with optional rear-seat treats like tri-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, a household-style power outlet, two USB ports, a touch-screen console, and heated and cooled cupholders. GT models with two seats don’t have any LATCH car-seat connections, but you'll find them in the four-seat AMG GT. The GT makes the grade when it comes to interior quality. Its sleek and modern cabin is awash in quality materials. However, like nearly all Mercedes models, you'll face an insane base price but still get standard synthetic leather upholstery. In the GT, Nappa leather seats are the next step up for an extra couple thousand dollars.
The AMG GT Coupe has 10.1 cubic feet of trunk space, which is about average for a luxury sports car. The soft-top Roadster has a minuscule 5.8-cubic-foot. At the time of this writing, Mercedes has not released cargo figures for the new 2019 GT four-door. The features and tech you'll find in the Mercedes-Benz GT largely depend on its body style. The all-new GT four-door incorporates most of Mercedes' latest infotainment offerings, with side-by-side 12.3-inch display screens that flow seamlessly together to create a virtual dashboard. One is a fully digital instrument cluster, while the other is home to the COMAND infotainment system. You use a touchpad on the center console to control COMAND, unlike the rotary knob found in older Mercedes models. There's a slight learning curve to the system, and the touchpad can be overly sensitive, sometimes registering accidental touches. Features exclusive to the AMG GT sedan include Apple CarPlay and wireless device charging.
Now in their fifth model year of production, GT Coupe and Roadster models are a little more dated. These GT variants have an 8.4-inch infotainment screen, and they lack amenities like CarPlay. This version of COMAND utilizes a physical control knob on the center console that makes adjusting features pretty straightforward. It says something about a car's priorities when its least powerful engine is a turbocharged inline-six that doles out 429 horsepower. That's the standard offering in the new 2019 AMG GT four-door, and it's the only six-cylinder engine in the lineup. All other GTs - coupes, roadsters, and higher four-door trims - have a hand-built AMG twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8. In the coupe and roadster, that engine makes 469, 515, 550, or 577 horsepower, depending on trim. The V8 in the four-door GT produces 577 or 630 horsepower. Every single engine is a force to be reckoned with. Power delivery is instant and strong, as it effortlessly reaches high speeds.
