Mercedes-Benz C300 Reliability - 2019 Ratings

Mercedes-Benz C300 Reliability - 2019 Ratings

The Mercedes-Benz C300 Reliability Rating is 3.5 out of 5.0, which ranks it 16th out of 31 for luxury midsize cars. 823 which means it has higher than average ownership costs. While repairs are more common, these issues are less likely to be severe than with other cars. Expect to make slightly more trips to the shop with a C300, but for minor issues. 631 for all vehicle models. Mercedes-Benz C300 owners have to bring their vehicles into a repair shop for unscheduled repairs an average of 0.6 times per year, compared to an average of 0.6 times for luxury midsize cars and 0.4 times for all vehicle models. The probability of a repair being a severe or major issue is 8% for the Mercedes-Benz C300, compared to an average of 9% for luxury midsize cars and 11% for all vehicle models. What is the RepairPal Reliability Rating? The Reliability Rating by RepairPal is a measurement of vehicle dependability based on the cost, frequency, and severity of unscheduled repairs and maintenance.

RepairPal combines an extensive proprietary database including millions of vehicle repair invoices with additional automotive statistics and predictive data science to develop the most genuine reliability metric in the industry. The Reliability Rating allows you to research dependability and ownership costs related to unscheduled repairs and maintenance in addition to comparing reliability factors against other vehicles and industry averages. Individual factors contributing to a vehicle's composite Reliability Rating include cost, frequency, and severity. The average total annual cost for unscheduled repairs and maintenance across all model years of a vehicle. Higher average cost alone does not necessarily mean a vehicle is less reliable. For example, parts and labor for your vehicle may be expensive, especially if it is a European luxury car, but if severe issues and annual average visits to the shop are low, that's a good indicator of a reliable car. The average number of times the vehicle is brought into the shop for unscheduled repairs and maintenance in a single year. This metric is calculated by tracking millions of unique vehicles over multiple years to determine an average number of visits per year for each make and model. Controls were included to omit small routine visits to shops such as for oil changes. The severity component to reliability measures the probability that a repair will be a major issue. An issue is considered severe if a repair requires immediate service, is prohibitively expensive, or presents a situation that is potentially dangerous or damaging. RepairPal combines multiple disparate data sets to identify and flag these issues and then rates the severity component for each vehicle relative to that of other models in our database.

Most notably, the C-Class now gets the same (optional) semi-autonomous driving tech that's available in the E-Class. This includes new cameras and radars for the adaptive cruise control and steering assist systems that help the C-Class get a better "view" of the road ahead. The adaptive cruise control system now uses map data to adjust speed to certain road conditions, and there's also an automatic lane change feature too. Inside, the C-Class also gets an optional 12.3-inch screen to replace the traditional analog gauge cluster. That can be paired with a 10.25-inch central infotainment screen that's operated by a steering-wheel touchpad in addition to the center-console scroll wheel and touch pad you got before. It's running a new version of Mercedes's Comand infotainment system, which touts a more intuitive voice command system. Mechanically, the C-Class is much the same as before, though the C300 gets an upgraded 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Horsepower rises from 241 to 255, while torque remains the same at 273 lb-ft. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Pricing for the 2019 C300 and C300 4Matic will be shared at a later date, closer to when the car goes on sale towards the end of this year. Presumably, information on AMG models will come later too. We're still holding out hope for a new C63 Black Series.
