Greek Yogurt Brands

Greek Yogurt - Thick, creamy, filled with so much protein, and delicious. Chances are if you are a Greek yogurt aficionado, you will want to know the different Greek yogurt brands. In recent years, the popularity of Greek yogurt has exploded. Now more than a third of yogurt purchased is Greek. I first discovered Greek Yogurt by accident. I picked up plain yogurt for a smoothie base but didn't realize it was Greek. The taste was so smooth and creamy, making me savor each spoonful. After eating Greek yogurt, I can never go back to just regular yogurt. There are a ton of varieties of Greek yogurt that have popped onto store shelves. Here is a list of the most popular Greek yogurt brands on stores shelves. Foodies, grab a shopping bag. I'm hungry, let's go shopping. We've taste tested the most popular brands and have chosen our favorites. I wish we could smear thick Greek yogurt on the screen so you could taste it too, but this will have to do.

Fage is the real deal! Fage was the first brand of Greek Yogurt released in the United States. It's authentic Greek yogurt - tart and creamy. Divine. Taste succulent creamy Greek yogurt in your mouth. If you want authentic Greek yogurt, Fage is the way to go. It is creamier and thicker than other Greek yogurts. I am a big fan of Fage. I am a bit of a health nut, so I love the plain fat free yogurt. It's got that traditional Greek yogurt taste and smooth texture. It even works as a healthy replacement for sour cream. Some people may find it too sour. I love adding whatever fruit I have lying around and topping it with walnuts. If I want it sweeter, I add a bit of truvia. For a real treat, mix it with a few spoons of sugar free jello pudding mix to flavor it.

I have found the best way to flavor it is using torani sugar free syrups.I even love stirring peanut butter in it. Oh, heavenly. If you don't mind the added sugar, it's also available in a variety of flavors including: raspberry, strawberry, peach, cheery, blueberry, cherry pomegranate, blueberry acai, strawberry goji, and honey. Chobani spent two years getting the taste of its yogurt right. Before Chobani came along, just about everyone in United States knew nothing about Greek yogurt.Through a strong social media campaign, Chobani became the brand that most Americans came to love. Currently, it is the best selling Greek yogurt brand in the United States. Many supermarkets have a hard time keeping it in stock. What I love the most about Chobani is that they donate 10% of their profits to charity. I don't buy it always, but I can't live when Chobani is not in the fridge. When I sunk my teeth into this, I discovered a yogurt which was so wonderfully thick and creamy. Unlike traditional Greek yogurt, it is not as tart. It is great for people new to Greek yogurt. I am not a big fan of flavored Greek yogurt.

With all the added sugar it loses its Greek. If you want strawberry flavored yogurt you can just throw strawberries inside. Traditionally, I love plain Greek yogurt but what I love about this creamy yogurt is that it is offered in over 20 different flavors to satisfy just about everyone's taste buds. These aren't the normal flavors. Okay you have the plain, strawberry, blueberry flavors but if you are daring you could also try the Honey Bee Nana. Dive into this creamy honey flavored yogurt and add as much of the included pureed bananas to the yogurt for an even sweeter taste. For breakfast, you have got to try the Vanilla Golden Crunch which is cornflakes and oats rolled into non fat yogurt. In addition to regular Greek yogurt, Chobani makes both non fat and low fat options as well. With so many fun options, it's great for those seeking an adventure or just a great creamy Greek yogurt. Kirkland Greek yogurt is actually the Costco store brand.

It's one of the best values for the money. 10. It is literally half the price of traditional Greek yogurt. Hands down the Kirkland Greek yogurt is the best store brand Greek yogurt.Looking at the ingredients it appears that it is authentic Greek yogurt containing only milk and no thickening agents. I used to always buy Fage until I picked this up. This is my go to everyday Greek yogurt. It is so good that when I put it side by side by Fage, the difference is barely noticeable. The texture is almost identical if not a bit runnier. It's one of the best plain Greek yogurts. It is not for everyone because it's only available in plain. However, this how I usually buy my Greek yogurt because it allows me to control how sweet it is. I like to add truvia, honey, jam, protein powder, preserves, and fruit to it to sweeten it.
