The current S-Class coupe was introduced in 2014 while roofless version followed a year later. After that convertible even had a chance to join special part of the lineup touched by Maybach magic, although in limited numbers. AMG model of Cabriolet had some distinctions to set it apart from the regular version. Judging by the spy photos, it will be even more distanced in the future, with what is evidently new Panamericana grille which found its way here from AMG GT lineup. Also, the new front bumper will be obviously more aggressive with sharper lines around air intakes. The rear bumper is also masked, but we are not able to see whether some changes are happening there, only thing sure is that quad exhaust is here to stay. Tail lights are also covered, and they should feature new layout. Big change is probably preparing in this area. Currently, we have 5.5-liter turbocharged V8 delivering 585 hp and 664 lb-ft, and we also have 6.0-liter turbocharged V12 boosting 630 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque in AMG S65 model. With refresh, we will probably say goodbye to mentioned V8 and say hello to the new V8 already conquering the brand’s lineup. We are talking about 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 which in AMG GT R model delivers 577 hp and 516 lb-ft which could be paired with 9-speed dual clutch automatic. That is below current figures, so we will see whether Merc is going to squeeze more power from it or they will use something else to match or even surpass the current performances. Also, we might see rear wheel steering system from mentioned GT R model, which would substantially increase cornering abilities.

It's not every day that Mercedes-Benz comes out with a new SL. The roadster that anchors the top of the company's non-AMG production range tends to enjoy an unusually long lifecycle. The iconic first-generation Gullwing was on the market for ten years. The second-gen model lasted just eight years, but the third iteration was around for a whopping eighteen. Fortunately, a new model is on its way and should put the MkV out to pasture after ten long years of service. Due sometime next year as a 2013 model, these are the clearest shots we've seen yet of what to expect. It looks as though LEDs are lurking in the lower front intakes on either side, with what seems like it could house a side intake behind the front wheels. The test mule is draped in a new shade of copper we haven't seen before, and we suspect that those unflattering wheels are temporary. Take a gander yourself in our high-res gallery.

“I’m happy with today’s result. I was relieved to get into Q3 - it was very close - and I feel I pulled every last drop out of the car. So I’m satisfied with the job we did today. “Our car is the best it’s ever been at this circuit. And we’ll stay focused for tomorrow: I need to get as good a start as I’ve been getting for the past few races, stay clean, get around the first corner and keep moving forwards after that. “It would be great to make up some places off the grid because it’s very hard to overtake around here. But we’ll do the best job we can. I’m ready for it. “In practice this morning, the car was working pretty well and I felt quite happy with it. We were still some way off the top two teams, but the overall pace wasn’t too bad.
