Revised Workshop Procedure: Body Assembly Remove / Refit



AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:



CONDITION SUMMARY:



Situation:



The Workshop Manual procedure for removing and refitting the body assembly has been revised. The revised procedure has several steps removed



or re-timed, including but not limited to:



^ Bumper renew (front and rear) has been replaced with bumper remove / refit for access



^ Complete coolant drain has been replaced with a coolant top up as only one (1) liter is lost



^ Shields located under the front wheel arches no longer require removal



^ Steering column repair time has been reevaluated



NOTE:



Associated repair times requiring body removal will also change.

Action:



When removing and refitting the body assembly, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

REMOVE / REFIT BODY ASSEMBLY

SDARS Changes From Channel 001 to 184



AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE

CONDITION SUMMARY:



Situation:



The Satellite Digital Audio Receiving System (SDARS) may switch to channel 184 if the last listened-to channel was 001 (Hits 1) when the ignition



was switched 'OFF'. This may be caused by a software issue within the Audio front control module.



Action:



In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to update the Audio Front Control Module software.

IDS with latest IDS-DVD and Calibration File; first available on IDS-DVD121_V6.08 Calibration File 37 Land Rover-approved Midtronics Vehicle

REPAIR PROCEDURE



UPDATE THE AUDIO FRONT CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE



CAUTION:



Ensure all ignition 'ON' / ignition 'OFF' requests are carried out; failure to perform these steps may cause damage to control modules in the vehicle.



CAUTION:



A Land Rover-approved Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during IDS diagnosis / module programming.



1. Connect the Land Rover-approved Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply to the vehicle battery.



NOTE:



IDS must be loaded with IDS-DVD121_V6.08 or later and Calibration File 37 or later.



2. Connect the IDS to the vehicle and begin a new Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) session.



3. Follow the on-screen prompts, allowing SDD to read the VIN and identify the vehicle.



4. From the Session Type selection screen, choose 'Diagnosis'.



5. Select the 'Selected Symptoms' tab, and then select:



^ Electrical > Information and entertainment system > Entertainment system > Audio > Radio loses preset stations



6. Select 'continue'.



7. Select the 'Recommendations' tab.

8. From the Recommendations tab, select 'Run' to configure the 'Audio front control module'



^ Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.



9. Exit the current session.



10. Disconnect the IDS and the Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply from the vehicle.



11. Close all doors, tailgate, and hood.



12. Lock the vehicle; wait 10 seconds.



13. Unlock the vehicle; wait 10 seconds.



14. Repeat steps 11 and 12.



15. Verify radio (AM / FM / CD / SDARS) operation.
