condition summary:

note:

Adjustment of the park brake shoes when carrying out a routine service schedule is not typically claimable through Warranty.

Situation:

The Workshop Manual procedure foe setting the parking brake shoe and lining adjustment has been revised. The new procedure has been simplified

in order to make the adjustment easier for a technican to perform and no longer requires the use of a torque wrench to measure torque to turn when

setting the running clearance between the parking brake shoe lining material and the rear brake disc.

The setting of the park brake shoe lining to disc running clearance is critical to ensuring the correct function and durability of the park brake system.

It is imperative that the revised procedure is correctly followed as the park brake system is very sensitive to incorrect adjustment that can lead to

premature wear and/or damage to the electronic park brake module.

Land Rover requires that all technicians familiazrilize themselves with the revised procedure in TOPix before conducting any adjustment using the

new procedure.

In the event it becomes necessary to set the parking brake shoe and lining adjustment, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

No parts necessary
