Cause #1
This condition may be caused by an actuator or cable issue.
Correction #1
Use the following steps to determine the cause of the condition.
1. Function the "Easy Entry" handle. The seat back should tilt forward approximately 25-30 degrees.
- If the seat does not tilt, proceed to steps 2 and 3.
- If the seat back goes all of the way to the stow flat position, proceed to step 4.
- The cable casing (conduit) must be securely attached to the upper recliner bracket. Inspect and secure as required (A).
- The cable end fitting must be securely attached to the recliner release lever. Inspect and secure as required (B).
- The seat recliner stop pin must be securely attached to the release bracket (C). Ensure the pin is not loose or missing.
Condition #2
Some customers may comment that the second row seat does not slide when using "Easy Entry" feature.
Cause #2
This condition may be caused by debris in the seat track assembly or actuator cable issues.
Correction #2
Use the following steps to determine the cause of the condition.
- Ensure both "Easy Entry" cable ends are securely attached to the cable attachment pin located on the release bracket. Secure as necessary (A).
- Ensure both cable casing (conduit) barrel ends are securely attached to the recliner cable end attachment bracket (B).

- Ensure both cable barrels are secured to the inboard and outboard catch attachment brackets at the rear of the seat track (C).
- Ensure both cable ends are secured to the inboard and outboard track release levers (D).
- Ensure both the inboard and outboard track release levers are free to rotate, are not bent, binding or making contact with other components
(E).
Condition #3
Some customers may comment that the second row lower seat cushion does not go in to the correct position when using the "Easy Entry" feature.
Cause #3
This condition may be caused by a pinched or out of position control cable.
Correction #3
Use the following steps to determine the cause of the condition.
1. Ensure both cushion latch release cables are securely attached to the front carrier assembly.

- Ensure both cable end conduit elbows are securely attached to the front carrier assemblies.
- Ensure both cable end fittings are securely attached to the actuator assemblies.
- Ensure both cable end conduit fittings are securely attached to the cushion latch assemblies.
Condition #4
Some customers may comment that the seat will not function in the fore/aft direction.
Cause #4
This condition may be caused by debris in the seat tracks or issues with the actuator cables or handle assembly.
Correction #4
Use the following steps to determine the cause of the condition.
- Inspect the cables for a "pinch" condition. Inspect the seat tracks for debris that may prevent the set from functioning as intended.
- Ensure the inboard and outboard cable end fittings are attached to the track latch pin (A).
- Ensure the inboard and outboard cable casing (conduit) end barrels are securely attached to the bracket (B).

4. Function the Fore/Aft adjustment handle and observe the inboard and outboard latch pins. Ensure both pins rotate fully in the forward
direction (C).
5. If one or both of the pins are not rotating forward, disconnect the cable(s) from the affected latch pin and function the handle.
- If both cable end fittings appear to be functioning properly, the lower seat frame assembly may be defective. Replace as necessary. Refer
to Rear Seat Adjuster Replacement in SI.
- If one or both of the cable ends are not functioning, the handle assembly may be defective. Replace as necessary. Refer to Rear Seat
Adjuster Handle Replacement in SI.
Condition #5
Some customers may comment that the seat will not go into the stow flat position.
Cause #5
This condition may be caused by control cable issue or a non-functioning rear seat back cushion stowage latch actuator.
Correction #5
Use the following steps to determine the cause of the condition.
Cycle (pull) the reclining seat back strap and determine if the strap moves when pulled.
- If the strap moves but the seat does not stow flat, ensure the cable casing (conduit) is securely attached to the upper recliner bracket (A). Also
ensure the cable end fitting is securely attached to the recliner latch plate (B).

- If the strap does not move, disconnect the cable from the cable end fitting and determine if the cable end is moving when the strap is pulled
(A).
- If the cable end does not move, replace the stowage latch actuator. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Stowage Latch Actuator Replacement
in SI.
- If the cable end is moving, inspect the latch plate. Slide the plate upwards until the seat back can rotate forward. If this does not function,
the lower seat frame assembly may be defective. Replace as necessary. Refer to Rear Seat Adjuster Replacement in SI.
