The customer complains the heated seats do not get hot enough or the heating performance is low.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
The maximum target temperature for the heated seats was reduced starting with the change over to the 2009 A3 product improvement.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Optimized software (version 0170) for the Climate Control Unit (J255) with improved seat heating performance was introduced in to production.
SERVICE
- Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
- Update the Climate Control Unit (J255) using the SVM action code as listed in the table above if necessary. This new software provides improved
seat heating performance.
3. During the update the system will provide three separate updates to the climate control unit. The ignition will need to be manually cycled after
each update. It is critical that all three updates are preformed!
Tip: Performing the software update using the Audi Flashing - SVM for problem related update" will limit the user interaction required. The
technician will still be required to cycle the ignition after each one of the three updates is completed.
