Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 21 number 11 - 03 dated January 19, 2011 for reasons listed below.
Affected Vehicles
Condition
Customer has one or more of the following concerns:
^ Poor accelerator response
^ Slightly delayed power transmission
^ "Turbo lag"
^ Rough gear changes
During the test drive it appears that the power is transmitted with a slight delay when compared to normal.
Technical Background
The pulling away clutch of the DSG closes when the brakes are released and is therefore under load. The delayed power transmission is caused by a
late and rapid boost pressure build-up.

  1. Perform a visual check of the turbocharger. Make sure that the stud with clamp nut is on the turbocharger.

  2. If the stud or clamp nut is missing, replace the turbocharger.

Note
Attempt to find the missing nut; it is often lying on the engine undertray assembly. Return the old turbocharger and loose nut to the Warranty Parts
Return Center for analysis.
