Electrical Faults
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the "summer opening feature" opening the windows, the trunk lid opening by itself or
the TeleAid system repeatedly calling ATX regarding alarm activation, check the wiring harness starting at the connector for the emergency trunk
opening button to where it joins the main harness. The edges of the sheet metal may make a small cut in the wire insulation which can occasionally
short circuit to the trunk lid producing one of the above symptoms. This can be very hard to see but can be detected by carefully feeling along the
wires with your fingers. To remedy, use cloth tape to protect the cuts in the wire harness and protect the remainder of harness (Figure 1, arrows)
where it meets the edges of the underside of the trunk lid.
