Corrosion on Trunk Lid in Area of Lock Cylinder
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles with a complaint of corrosion in the area of the trunk lid lock cylinder, please use the
information in this DTB until the respective WIS document has been revised. Perform the procedure below to resolve.
1. Remove trunk lid lock and locking eye. Refer to WIS Document AR88.50-P-5020E (202), AR88.50-P-5020K (208) or AR88.50-P-5020F
(210).

- Inspect material damage at lock cutout (Figure 1).
- Remove corrosion in area of lock cylinder on inside and outside.
Note:
Replacement of the trunk lid is only justified if over 1.0 mm of material (sheet steel) has been removed around the edge of the lock cutout.

4. Coat area of trunk lid inner side with primer. Paint trunk lid. Refer to WIS Document (masking when painting trunk lid) AR98.00-P-0200-07E
(202) or AR98.00-P-0200-07C (208/210).
- Coat area on inside of trunk lid with preservation wax. Allow to air-dry for at least 10 minutes.
- Coat lock cylinder rubber seal entirely with preservation wax.
- Install and adjust trunk lid lock and locking eye.
