Liftgate Latch 'Squeak' / 'Rattle'



AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:



CONDITION SUMMARY:



Situation:



A 'squeak' or 'rattle' may be evident from the liftgate latch. This may be caused by the latch plastic-rubber buffers.



Action:



In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to replace the plastic buffers with rubber buffers.

REPAIR PROCEDURE



INSTALL LIFTGATE LATCH RUBBER BUFFERS



1. Open the liftgate.



2. Remove liftgate striker cover: (Figure 1) Release the two clips



NOTE:



Note the fitted position before removing.

3. Remove the two plastic-rubber buffers. (Figure 2)



4. Install two new rubber buffers. (Figure 2)



5. Install the liftgate striker cover. (Figure 1)



6. Close the liftgate.
