Unnecessary Replacement of MCS Head Units Due to Volume Adjustment Errors or Button Jams Caused By Material Detaching from
2000 Mercedes Benz Truck ML 55 AMG (163.174) V8-5.5L (113.981) 306
Volume/Power Knob
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the volume button not working correctly when adjusting the volume or the button
jams, this may be due to the material detaching from the volume knob through normal wear and tear. Should a volume knob require a replacement,
please turn the MCS Head Unit OFF -> hold the right side of MCS door securely closed and pull volume knob towards you -> replace the knob with
new part number A163 820 01 92. When completed, please check for correct function.
Please note that MCS units replaced for damaged volume knobs will be returned and the warranty claim will be debited as of May 7, 2003.
