TRC MAKES TEAM HISTORY AT ONE OF THE WORLD’S LARGEST REGATTAS

CHATTANOOGA, TN - November 3-4, 2018– At the Head of the Hooch, one of the world’s largest rowing regattas, and against some of the best competition in the nation and abroad, Triangle Rowing Club made club history bringing home the Silver Medal in the Mixed Youth 8+ competition, and the Bronze Medal in the Mixed Youth Novice 8+ competition! Triangle Rowing Club competed in 14 events with 22 total entries. Overall, TRC finished 13th out of over 40+ youth rowing clubs!
The Head of the Hooch boasts a crowd of over 20,000 spectators, with more than 9,000 seats racing over two days. It is a logistical wonder to witness the coordination of over 2,000 entries of rowing shells getting launched rigged and removed in this epic two day event. 1,200 boats compete on Saturday alone, more in one day than any other regatta. Participants came from over 200 different organizations from all across the United States, as well as entries from Canada, Germany, Sweden and Australia. Click herefor detailed results.
TRC brought recognition that the Triangle is a place for developing top youth rowers. Our team will finish out their season this weekend, November 10 at the Head of the South Regatta in Augusta, GA on the Savannah River.
