FORD: Some 2018-2020 f-150, 2017-2022 f-super duty and 2016-2022 f-650/f-750 vehicles equipped with a diesel engine may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (dtc) P0000 stored in the powertrain control module (pcm) after an on-demand self test.

If your 2018-2020 F-150, 2017-2022 F-Super Duty, or 2016-2022 F-650/F-750 vehicle equipped with a diesel engine is exhibiting a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0000 stored in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) after an on-demand self-test, you can try the following steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Check for any other DTCs that may be present in addition to P0000, as they may be related to the underlying issue.

  2. Inspect the vehicle's wiring harnesses and connectors for any visible signs of damage or corrosion. This can include checking the wiring leading to the fuel injection control module, as well as the wiring to the PCM.

  3. Verify that the vehicle is using the correct fuel, as using an incorrect or contaminated fuel can cause issues with the diesel engine and trigger DTCs like P0000.

  4. Check the engine for any signs of damage, such as a damaged fuel injector, fuel pump, or fuel lines.

  5. Verify that the vehicle has the most up-to-date software and programming for the PCM, and consider reprogramming the PCM if necessary.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it is recommended that you take the vehicle to an authorized Ford dealer for further diagnosis and repair. They will have access to the latest diagnostic tools and procedures to identify and resolve the underlying issue.
