Yesterday, Bimmerpost and BMW Blog spotted order code ZL9 for the 2017 BMW M2 in the U.S. BMW dealership ordering system. It specifies the 2017 M2 Performance Edition. The package is limited to 150 units, all painted Alpine White. The cars all come with black kidney grilles, black side gills, titanium exhaust tips, illuminated door sills, and LED door projectors with "Performance Edition" images, all of which are M Performance Accessories. Black mirror caps are also included. M Performance Accessories also improve the sound and handling. A firmer M Performance coilover suspension is tuned for the M2, and an M Performance exhaust turns up the volume. Inside, this package subscribes to the less is more approach. The sport seats are manually adjustable and they lack heating and lumbar adjustment. The car has keyless entry, but it doesn't have the comfort access feature that allows you to lock or unlock the vehicle by touching the door handle with the key still in your pocket. The climate control system is single zone, and the audio system is a basic hi-fi system instead of a Harman Kardon unit. The smoker's package is also removed. Also included is the M Drivers Package, which increases the top speed from 155 to 168 mph and comes with a one-day High Performance Driving class courtesy of BMW. 52,695, so the Performance Edition is a bit pricey. However, the M Performance Accessories can add up quickly and these cars will likely have collector appeal. Buyers will not be able to order their Performance Editions any other way. With only 150 on offer, get your order in soon if you want one.

The facelifted 2019 Audi R8 has been scooped by Carscoops spy photographers wearing bright colors and some camouflage over key areas. Despite the presence of camouflage across the nose, it鈥檚 apparent that Audi designers have modified the air intakes and reshaped the grille to make the R8 more appealing than ever before. Moving to the sides, the presence of camouflage indicates that some new skirts have been designed. At the rear, the facelifted R8 adopts a different mesh grille design which appears to stretch the full width of the car. The presence of a small rear wing, menacing diffuser and larger-than-life tailpipes indicate that these two prototypes could be range-topping R8 GT models. If a new Audi R8 GT is indeed around the corner, a host of performance changes are inevitable. Power from the naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine could be increased to around 650 hp and possibly as much as 670 hp. We wouldn鈥檛 be surprised if the range-topping R8 GT also took some inspiration from the Lamborghini Huracan Performante and its liberal use of active aerodynamic components. Beyond the R8 GT, it is inevitable that the rest of the R8 range will benefit from the same visual updates. For some time, it was believed that an entry-level R8 with a V6 engine was on the cards but contradictory statements from the German marque leave the future of such a model up in the air. Given the demand for the sole V10 model on offer, it could be hard for Audi to justify diluting the R8 brand with a V6 variant. Or at least that鈥檚 what we hope happens.
Pretty much everyone who is a car enthusiast always wanted a Supra, and as far as I'm concerned BMW interior and infotainment is only a bonus over Toyotas disposable junk. I dont know about that. Ive owned MKIII and MKIV Supras and the infotainment was the last thing on my mind. The interiors were pretty comfortable. Toyota/Lexus has NEVER been an enthusiast oriented brand. Never. So this argument that they've lost their way because they dont build enthusiast attracting vehicles holds no water. I disagree. Toyota made the AE86 Corolla, the Celia All trac, the 1st and 2nd generation MR2 and the Supra. So when rumors of a new Supra started, expectations were high. The last thing any of the Supra faithful wouldve expected was a 2 seater, 4 cylinder car developed with BMW. Them calling this a Supra just doesnt bother me. Them calling this a Supra just doesn鈥檛 bother me.
