The vacuum sensor signal is not plausible.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The brake warning indicator turns ON.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* A current DTC clears when the diagnostic runs and passes.

* The EBCM will turn OFF the indicator in the next ignition cycle.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Inspect the brake booster vacuum system for damage, leakage and correct installation.

瀚慖f damage, leakage or incorrect installation is diagnosed, repair or replace the component.

2. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B19B Brake Booster Vacuum Sensor.

3. Test for less than 5 ohm between the low reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.

瀚慖f greater than the specified value, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K17

Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).

4. Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 V between the 5 V reference circuit terminal 3 and ground.

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the 5 V reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K17

Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).

瀚慖f less than the specified range, test the 5 V reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,

replace the K17 Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).

5. Verify the scan tool Brake Booster Vacuum Sensor Parameter is greater than 100 kPa (14.5 PSI).

瀚慖f less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K17 Electronic Brake

Control Module (EBCM).

6. Install a fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 1 and the low reference circuit terminal 2.

7. Verify the scan tool Brake Booster Vacuum Sensor Parameter is less than 30 kPa (4 PSI).

瀚慖f greater than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal,

replace the K17 Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).

8. If all circuits test normal, replace the B19B Brake Booster Vacuum Sensor.
