Circuit/System Verification

Observe the scan tool BCM Traction Control Switch parameter while pressing and releasing the traction control switch. The reading should change

between Active and Inactive.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S48E Multi-Function Switch - Center Console.

2. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF. It may take up to 2 minutes for all vehicle systems to power down. Test for less than 10 ohm

between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.

瀚慖f greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

3. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool BCM Traction Control Switch parameter is Inactive.

瀚慖f not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.

4. Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 7 and ground.

5. Verify the scan tool BCM, Traction Control Switch parameter is Active.

瀚慖f not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9

Body Control Module.

6. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the S48E Multi-Function Switch - Center Console.

Component Testing

Static Test

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S48E Multi-Function Switch - Center Console.

2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal 7 and the ground circuit terminal 2 with the switch in the released position.

瀚慖f less than the specified value, replace the S48E Multi-Function Switch - Center Console.

3. Test for less than 5 ohm between the signal circuit terminal 7 and the ground circuit terminal 2 with the switch in the pressed position.

瀚慖f greater than the specified value, replace the S48E Multi-Function Switch - Center Console.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
