Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The DTC passes when the malfunction is no longer present.

Diagnostic Aids

A high or low voltage value in multiple modules indicates a concern in the charging system.

Circuit/System Verification

1. Engine running, accessories OFF, measure and record the battery voltage at the C1 battery terminals. The voltage should be between 12.6 and

15.0 V.

瀚慖f the battery voltage is not within the specified range, refer to Charging System Test (See: Starting and Charging/Testing and

Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Charging System Test).

2. Engine running, observe the keyless entry control module scan tool Battery Voltage parameters. Verify that the scan tool displays a value that

is within 2 V of the battery terminal voltage.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connectors of the K84 keyless entry control module.

2. Ignition OFF and scan tool disconnected, open and close the driver door, and wait 1 minute. Test for less than 10 Ohms between the ground

circuit terminals listed below and ground:

* Terminal 2 X2

* Terminal 6 X2

瀚慖f greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.

3. Test for greater than 9 V between the B+ circuit terminals listed below and ground:

* Terminal 1 X2

* Terminal 5 X2

瀚慖f less than the specified range, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.

4. If the circuits test normal, replace the K84 keyless entry control module.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
