Circuit/System Verification

1. Operate the engine for 30 seconds. Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTC P0351, P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355, P0356, P2300,

P2301, P2303, P2304, P2306, P2307, P2309, P2310, P2312, P2313, P2315, or P2316 should not set.

2. Engine operating, observe the scan tool IC Circuit Test Status parameters, the IC Circuit Test Status parameters should display OK or Not

Run.

3. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the

conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate T8 ignition coil.

Note: The ignition circuit supplies voltage to other components. Make sure you test all circuits for a short to ground or test all components

for being shorted that share the ignition circuit.

2. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition voltage circuit terminal D and ground.

瀚慖f the test lamp does not illuminate, test the circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the

ignition circuit fuse is open, test all the components connected to the ignition voltage circuit and replace as necessary.

3. Crank or start the engine. Test for 200-400 mV between the appropriate IC circuit terminal C and ground.

Circuit/System Description

When certain modules are programmed and configured during installation, the module learns a specific environment identifier which is unique to

the vehicle. The environment identifier is used to prevent the swapping modules between vehicles. The body control module (BCM) is the keeper

of the environment identifier. The instrument cluster, electronic brake control module (EBCM), HVAC control module, sensing and diagnostic

module (SDM), engine control module (ECM), and steering column lock control module, if equipped, each learn the environment identifier during

their configuration process. During vehicle operation, each of these modules compare their environment identifier to that of the BCM. If the

identifiers match, vehicle starting is allowed. If an environment identifier does not match, vehicle starting is disabled.

Ignition is in the ACCESSORY or RUN position.

Subject: Information on Navigation Radio Not Displaying Accurate Vehicle Location after Radio Replacement, Power Loss or Battery

This bulletin is being revised to update model years. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 08-08-44-023 (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform technicians and customers that the Navigation Radio may not display the vehicle location icon on the map

accurately after a radio or battery has been replaced or after battery power has been removed from the radio. The vehicle location icon accuracy

may be degraded if the GPS signal is not available and the GPS displayed icon has a red line through it.

The Navigation Radio does not keep learned GPS information or gyroscope and vehicle speed signals stored when the battery power is removed

from the radio. The Navigation radio continually uses GPS, gyroscope and vehicle speed data to maintain the vehicle location icon positioned

accurately on the displayed map. There may be periods of time during a drive cycle when the GPS signal may not be available and the vehicle

location icon still appears to be accurate. This is due to the radio having internal gyroscopes and receiving a vehicle speed signal to maintain

accuracy if the radio had received a good GPS signal earlier in the drive cycle.

Normal driving will improve the accuracy of the vehicle location icon on the displayed map. It may be necessary for the vehicle to be driven up to

40 km (25 mi) with 15 left and 15 right turns while the vehicle location icon is matched to roads on the displayed map. Do not replace the radio for

this condition.

the state of the generator turn ON control circuit. The ECM should detect low voltage on generator turn on control circuit when the ignition is ON

Circuit/System Description

The BCM monitors the voltage level within the high beam signal circuit and the flash to pass signal circuit. When the turn signal/multifunction

switch is moved to the high beam position or to the flash to pass position, the voltage within the appropriate signal circuit drops to less than 1 V.

The BCM will detect the voltage drop and will command the headlamp high beams to turn ON or OFF.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Battery voltage must be between 9-16 V.

The BCM detects a short to ground in the headlamp high beam signal circuit.
