Circuit/System Verification

1. Ignition OFF, open the hood to disable the Auto-Stop function. Refer to Hybrid Modes of Operation Description ( See: Hybrid Drive

Systems/Description and Operation/Hybrid Modes of Operation).

2. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool hood position parameter displays Open.

瀚慖f the hood position does not display Open, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (See: Diagnostic Trouble Code

Descriptions/Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle) for DTC P254F.

Circuit/System Testing

Note: An intermittent or momentary, less than 1 s, loss of system voltage during throttle tip-in may set DTC P060D.

1. Ignition ON, clear the DTC information with a scan tool. Observe the scan tool DTC information. Verify that DTCs P0602 or P2610 do not

fail this ignition cycle.

瀚慖f DTC P0602 failed this ignition, reprogram the ECM. Refer to Control Module References (See: Testing and Inspection/Programming

and Relearning). If DTC P0602 resets, replace the ECM.

瀚慖f DTC P2610 failed this ignition, test the ECM ignition, battery positive voltage, and ground circuits for an open/high resistance or a

short to ground. If the circuits test normal, replace the ECM.

2. Ignition ON, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Verify DTCs P0601, P0603, P0604, P0606, P0607, P060D, P062F, or P16F3 do

not set this ignition cycle.

瀚慖f any of the DTCs set this ignition cycle, replace the ECM.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (See: Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.

DTC Descriptor

DTC P2635

- Fuel Pump Flow Performance

Diagnostic Fault Information

Circuit/System Description

The engine control module (ECM) supplies voltage to the fuel pump control module (fuel pump control module) when the ECM detects that the

ignition is on. The voltage from the ECM to the fuel pump control module remains active for 2 seconds, unless the engine is in crank or run. While

this voltage is being received, the fuel pump control module supplies a varying voltage to the fuel tank pump module in order to maintain the

desired fuel rail pressure.
